Perfect location at Mission Beach. Nice that there were two tv's in our room and the bed was comfortable. There was a box above the toilet that was near the bathroom door and we always had to duct a bit when we entered the bathroom. Other than that, the hotel was cozy and great location.

The property itself is adorable and perfectly placed between the ocean and the bay - but not ON either one. We loved the kitchens and outdoor seating area. Traveling with teen daughters, they loved the paddleboards, skateboards, bikes and boogie boards available. This property has organized discounts with many of the nearby eateries as well. That speaks volumes to us. We felt like family at Olive and Miss B’s when mentioning we were staying at the Boardwalk. Chloe, at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful to us as well. 2 things worth mentioning: 1. Ask for an upstairs room if you’re a light sleeper. It’s an older property and the footsteps are REAL! (The Boardwalk has thoughtfully placed sound machines in the rooms for this!) 2. If traveling as a group of 4, i recommend not booking the king bed/ sofa sleeper combo. It was just WAY too cramped to open suitcases and keep things organized with the sofa pulled out into a bed. Overall, We loved the experience and property and will definitely return!

The hot tub was great, and the the cold plunge was a welcomed surprise. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but also great. The corn hole was also fun. The bathroom was luxurious. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. The included rentals also added to the experience. We enjoyed our stay.

This place exceeded our expectations! It was the perfect location, walkable to everything you want to see in mission Beach. The bay on one side, the ocean on the other side is the best of both worlds. It's done up like a cute little surfer bungalow with all of the amenities you would need and more! I would highly recommend this adorable boutique hotel to anyone and we will definitely come back again!

We have stayed at the boardwalk several times now and will continue to come back every time we stay in San Diego. You cannot beat the location to Mission Beach and it is just the cutest hotel. We absolutely love it and would recommend it to anybody!

I really enjoyed my stay!! Other reviews regarding noise levels made me nervous, but it really wasn't bad. There was also a white noise machine provided by the hotel to drown out any noise if needed. The staff was super nice and the included beach gear with cheap rentals were convenient and made the trip even more fun without having to spend more $. The property was cute and the bed was very comfortable. I would 100% stay here again! I would especially recommend this hotel to anyone requiring a wheelchair accessible shower. The room we stayed in had a roll in shower which was super accessible. It wasn't just a regular shower with a handlebar like most "accessible" showers. There was SO MUCH space and it didn't feel restricted at all.
