Air conditioning dripped the entire time we were there. Staff just told me to put towel on the floor to catch the water. Stay was nice besides that

Super location with fantastically welcoming and helpful staff. From the front desk who genuinely talked us in to the property due to closed streets to the gentleman who ran the breakfast buffet, everyone seemed to go above and beyond. Thanks. Bed comfy, room spacious enough and breakfast buffet abundant.

Hotel Gibbs will be my new go-to whenever I am visiting the San Antonio area. From the time of calling for directions (slightly hard to find due to the ongoing construction) to check-out everything was perfect! Although, I failed to get the amazing front desk professionals name, she was there when I checked in and guided me perfectly to the hotel, had my keys ready and is such an extraordinarily kind person - thank you! Hotel Gibbs is an old bank that was gorgeously renovated many, many years ago. It was so nice to hear a little of its backstory from her. Exceptional stay - very safe, quiet, peaceful with a very comfy bed & beautiful wood doors, wonderful breakfast and very kind valets. 10/10!!! Highly recommend and I will be back!! So, on your next staycation/vacation, make Hotel Gibbs your home away from home. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!!

We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Gibbs. The staff was very friendly. We were able to get an early check in with no additional charge. Room was clean no cockroaches like another reviewer complained about. We were also traveling with children and had 3 rooms. Our kids weren’t quiet and the hotel still accommodated us well. I think some people just like to complain. Probably part of the “children should be seen and not heard” generation. This is an older hotel but it was a very pleasant stay. Quiet and clean. Location was right across from the Alamo and just a short walk to the river walk. There was cheap parking right down the street from the hotel so valet was not required to park. Half our party did use Valet and it was a quick pleasant experience. They are located in the lobby and get you taken care of quickly. Breakfast was great compared to other hotels I have stayed at. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh cut fruit cups. So many offerings to please all. We were traveling with someone who is gluten intolerant and they found plenty to eat. We are planning on staying again in the near future. This will be our go to hotel. We tell everyone about it. A hidden gem for sure.

I can't say enough about the breakfast buffet. It was absolutely awesome. Staff was friendly and nice and very accommodating. We would be very happy to stay at Hotel Gibbs again. Property is right across the street from the Alamo. Very convenient to most of the attractions including the Riverwalk. See you again soon. Thank you for making us feel right at home.

I was in search of a last minute room night due to a plumbing issue in my home. I found Hotel Gibbs which had a really great rate and was conveniently located near my office. Being a local and in the meetings/hotel and event industry myself I realized I had never stayed at this property. Needless to say, I booked it. I was a little weary at first because of the construction across the street but it did not bother me at all as I had to be up early for work anyway. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming - Sarah hit all the right talking points as if she was reading my mind. My room was clean, cozy and my bed was delightful the AC was perfect - nice and cold. I had breakfast the next morning which was great all the way around. The staff in the dining room showed a pleasant to everyone that walked in for breakfast. I felt like I was at a local diner. I know why this is San Antonio's best kept secret. Perfect for families on the go or an explorer's paradise. Hope to be back soon!
