Even though in the building and facilities are a little older and could stand to be updated, the room itself was clean comfortable well heated and air-conditioned, with a mini fridge and microwave and coffee pot. The staff was amazing my trip plans got messed up and I arrived early and they worked quickly to accommodate me and let me in a room. This hotel is in the center of downtown Tehachapi you can walk to a museum and art gallery a bar or liquor store at gas station and antique shop all in one minute! And you can't beat the price for all of that entertainment. I would definitely stay here again and recommend anyone else give Santa Fe motel shot.

Friendly check-in with the Manager. After a brief discussion it was clear he was quite passionate and dedicated about the motel. The room is perhaps a little dated, but otherwise very clean. As was the bathroom. TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free parking and wifi all included. Heater and light were left on in my room when I checked-in at night. I had a comfortable stay. The only downside to be aware of is that the trains pass by across the street, day and night. They make alot of noise when they 'toot' across the nearby road crossing. Surprisingly however, I was not woken by the trains during the night and slept well. The town has multiple cafes, fast food restaurants, grocery stores and laundromats. Tehachapi has a reputation for being a very safe and friendly town. I was impressed. Well worth a visit.

Vi havde en enkelt nat på Santa Fe Motel på vores vej mod Death Valley. Check in var hurtig og ubesværet med parkerings plads lige foran vores værelse. Værelset var gammelt og slidt, men rent. Motellet ligger tæt på en togbane, så man kunne høre togene dytte hver gang de skulle krydse en vej tæt på, det var rimelig irriterende. Det seneste tog vi hørte var ved 1-tiden og så igen kl 6. Hvis jeg havde vidst at toget var tæt på, havde jeg nok valgt et andet overnatningssted.

As previous reviews noted, this place has a fun funky feel. The location is great. There was a farmers market going on a block away. The movie theater was also a couple of blocks away. We took a pleasant evening walk and felt safe. There was a terrific German bakery across the street where we got sandwiches to go for the day's drive. It's an older motel, but clean with a good bed. Bathroom was clean with a cool tiled shower. We'd come back if in the area again.

This is an older Motel, it actually came with a key, how old school is that! That being said, it was very clean, the proprietor was very accommodating, it was extremely quiet, and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small and kind of old-fashioned but suited our needs perfectly for $60 a night. I will gladly stay there again.

Vintage motel, reminded me of road trips with my parents. Rooms are small, but clean and maintained. Rooms have refrigerator, microwave, TV and free WiFi and parking. Price is reasonable and location is ideal for walking around town.

A nice old-fashioned retro motel. Not fancy, and small room. But very pleasant. It's the sort of place I actually prefer. Personally, I'd rather stay here that the big new fancy joints down the road. Good location near eateries and sights. Right across from the train museum and a short walk to the history museum. Also right across from a great German bakery that opens early for breakfast. You know, I was expecting Tehachapi to be sort of dumpy, but found it to be quaint, colorful, friendly, and even artsy. First Friday is art evening if you happen to be there on that day; all the galleries are open with snacks available. The train whistles could be heard day and night, but that's okay, because trains are one reason why you come here. The famous Tehapapi Loop is a famous that is definitely worth putting on your bucket list. Two other things I liked about this motel: the very cool retro flashing neon sign, and the wood-beamed ceiling. Good WiFi signal, fridge, and microwave in room. And the price was very fair. I'd go back.

Really friendly, welcoming owner/manager. The rooms were very clean, the bed comfortable and amenities in working order. Check in was simple and my stay was very comfortable. I will return. I love an old, quirky motel and much prefer over the bland brand names.

I came to visit some friends in the Tehachapi area and opted to get a room in town. I have checked this location personally in the past and it seemed to be fine, so I booked it for two nights. The location turned out to be quite nice. Mind you, it is not a five star location, but it is an older facility that is maintained very well. I happen to prefer lodging like this. The proprietor was quite pleasant and I really enjoyed the stay. The tracks are literally across the street and train activity is fairly busy, which means a lot of train horns, but that is a personal bonus for me. There are several good locations around town for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with an amazing German bakery right across the street. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

NIce hotel. Quaint and downtown close to amenities . SHort walk to morning coffee and danish at the German Bakery. 2 minute walk to theatres and Train Museums and shopping boutiques. If you like antiquing or thrifting is also a convenient location for pleasurable walks around town. Only issue was mattress wasn't comfortable needed updating. And Expedia site only reserved 1 night when I needed two nights. The Manager fixed the issue for me even though they were basically full up.
