The stairs down were a little difficult but worth it totally. The cafe below took care of all of our food needs for the two days...they were great. The rooms were clean and comfortable...I would definitely stay there again!

Speakeasy Suites was a great and confident place to stay in downtown Nevada City. Really nice room (Suite No. 1) that looked down on Broad Street.

Great central spot! Fun rooms, the most comfortable bed and quality linens, feather pillows etc. A few quirks that are very understandable in a historic building in the middle of town (sometimes loud at night) but they have thought about little things like ear plugs and noise machine. Great for a couple on a mid week getaway

Cute and comfortable. They did a beautiful job with an older building. The check in process was a little confusing because I thought it was a hotel - know its more like a VRBO. If you can’t carry bags up steep stairs this place may not work for you. Not an ADA friendly place. The cafe below it was fantastic and friendly, wonderful little bars, shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Room was lovely and centrally located in town to coffee shops, restaurants and shops. The coffee shop downstairs of the inn has best coffee and baked goods in town. Great place to hang out. The major downside was parking. Street and lot parking limited to 3 to 4 hours till 6pm. So needed to move car and hope to find an another open space. Weekends and holidays particularly bad. We bailed shopping in Nevada City during day for nearby grass Valley for that reason. Perhaps off season would be a better parking experience

Parking is a challenge in Nevada City, especially on a weekend, any holiday, or the recent Christmas Sundays. The stairs are very steep, so watch where you are stepping as they are not the standard rise/run of a modern staircase. The shower was a tepid temperature, which is a mixing valve issue, as the sinks had normal hot water temperatures. It’s the history of the building and most of Nevada City that creates this charm here. Overall it was a nice quick overnight stay for NYE.

The suites are adorable but please note there is NO parking and this can be a real inconvenience. Plan to park a few blocks away. We had to bring our luggage about five blocks because the whole town is either hourly metered or 4 hour parking lots and the absolutely do enforce we saw the meter guy often. Otherwise the suite was clean, adorable, and good location if you want to be right downtown. Also there is no elevator so you have to bring luggage up a steep staircase as well.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was easy to walk around the town. Parking in the town was a bit trouble to park overnight. By the way, be sure to carry light luggage because the stairs up to the hotel room are a little steep. I have a knee issue.

Parking was in the street or behind the building- you can only park for 3 hours at a time. On our last day of our stay we had to have our car removed at 0830 because Nevada City was having an event- which meant we had to leave early. There was no communication from staff about this. The room was very expensive for no ice or coffee for the room and no parking convenience.

For the most part we didn’t have any issues or complaints. The room was nice and bed was very comfortable. The carpet seemed like it needed to be cleaned or replaced. One issue that I had that was minor had to do with coffee. Although it was nice that the room came with 2 free coffee vouchers for the downstairs cafe, it was a little annoying to have to wait in a long line to get it. Perhaps a small coffee station upstairs in the small public seating area with the couch would be a good idea for the guests staying at the hotel. The location was great and we did have a great time.
