We've stayed other places but this hotel is better, because of the location, indoor hallways, and the indoor swimming pool. It's a 10-15 min walk to the Shakespeare theaters and downtown. We weren't hungry with the complimentary breakfast (oatmeal, yogurt, toast, bagels, boiled eggs, etc), and it's across the street from Safeway supermarket. Some rooms have refrigerator and microwave, and some have kitchenette. We prefer the "mountain side" rooms that are away from the street. The price is great and so we can ignore that some items need a refresh - our bathroom sink was stained etc. Everything worked and we were comfortable - we've stayed here before and will be happy to stay again.

We have stayed at the Stratford many times before and always enjoy it. The staff is friendly and the rooms are always clean. Every time I come, new touches have been added to make the place nicer in the public areas. We always like the pool. Breakfast is limited but they have some good oatmeal. Beds vary in comfort based on my experience. The cardboard cutouts were a fun touch this year.

My favorite aspect of my stay at this hotel was the staff. Everyone - from the front desk to housekeeping to the folks at breakfast to the man cleaning the floors was friendly and helpful and welcoming. I felt very comfortable all the time. The location is great - easy to walk to plays, shops, and restaurants. Safeway is across the street, and our room (a standard 2-queen-bed room) had a refrigerator with a real freezer and a microwave. The hotel breakfast was standard - yogurt, fruit, toast, oatmeal, etc. - and the hotel always (maybe 24 hours?) had fresh coffee (with and without caffeine), half-and-half, and lots of teas. There was also good water for my water bottle. There were also many places to sit. I had access to the breakfast room until midnight or later - an easy place to work. There were also multiple places to sit outside; I enjoyed them all. The pool and hot tub were both comfortable. For me this was no drawback, but FYI: I found the place carefully maintained. It's clear that whoever's in charge really cares about hospitality and keeping things up. However, everything isn't new. I am good with that - the hotel didn't feel like a chain, and I like that. I know sometimes others do like new, though, so this is just information for those folks. I intend to return to the Stratford. We were there 4 nights in July, and we enjoyed them all. Ah - forgot to mention - parking was free and very easy.

Very clean and well maintained. Very friendly and lovely staff. We used the pool before and enjoyed it, but didn't get a chance to try the salt water pool this time. The breakfast wasn't what we were looking for, but there are so many wonderful bakeries in town and are all very walkable. We love this place and will be coming back again.

Hotel was great as always! Perfect location for attending OSF. I particularly enjoy the fact that breakfast has long hours, and so does the pool. This makes enjoying the amenities possible even with a full play-viewing schedule.
