What is Flight Disruption Protection?

Flight Disruption Protection is an insurance that protects you from any delays, schedule changes, or cancellations made by the airline.

 

By purchasing this insurance, you can get your money back in full, equal to your ticket price, and still be able to go or fly on the next flight! You'll be automatically notified upon your delayed flight. Not to mention the quick and easy claim and approval!

T&C and Other Info About Flight Disruption Protection

  1. Flight Disruption Protection is a flight insurance product provided by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia.
     
  2. Flight Disruption Protection can be purchased either together with or separately from a flight ticket through the websites www.tiket.com, m.tiket.com, and the tiket.com app (iOS & Android).
     
  3. Flight Disruption Protection is only applicable for journeys by airplane for One-Way Trip or Round Trip with Domestic and International routes inbound or outbound.
     
  4. The Insurer will not be responsible for any negligence on the part of the tiket.com system.
     
  5. This insurance is valid for all citizens with a minimum age of 3 (three) months and/or a maximum age of 80 (eighty) years at the time of departure.
     
  6. All terms and conditions related to the product will refer to the policy wording.
     
  7. Fair Usage Policy (FUP)
    a. The Policyholder is required to use the insurance benefits according to the needs arising from legitimate events covered under the insurance policy.

    b. Claim submissions must be supported by valid, complete evidence in accordance with the regulations applicable within the insurance company.

    c. The use of insurance benefits that appears disproportionate to the actual circumstances may be considered a violation of this Fair Usage Policy (FUP).

    d. The Policyholder is not permitted to use insurance benefits for purposes outside the scope of coverage as defined in the insurance policy, including but not limited to business activities or permanent activities abroad.
     
  8. Violations of this FUP include, but are not limited to:
    a. Submitting claims suspected of containing elements of fraud, fabrication, or false information;

    b. Concealing material information that may affect risk assessment;

    c. Using insurance benefits for non-emergency purposes or purposes not aligned with the travel intent; or

    d. Submitting repeated claims for the same incident without legitimate grounds.
     
  9. tiket.com, Cermati Protect, and PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia reserve the right to:
    a. Conduct verification and investigation of claims or service usage that we consider to exceed reasonable limits;

    b. Reject or suspend claim payments if indications of FUP violations are found;

    c. Unilaterally cancel the policy if an intentional violation is proven;

    d. Report actions indicating fraud to the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; and/or

    e. Take any additional measures deemed necessary in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
     
  10. Claims can be submitted using the bank account number of the ticket purchaser or the passenger who will be flying.
     
  11. The Insured must ensure that the bank account number submitted during the claim matches the name of the ticket purchaser or the passenger who will be flying. Any errors in entering the account number are the full responsibility of the Insured.
     
  12. Ticket re-booking is not limited to the same airline, but the route, destination, and flight class must be the same as the original/initial ticket, excluding additional services such as extra baggage, etc.

  13. Claims are only valid for one (1) type of claim per policy (delay, reschedule, or cancellation) with a minimum time gap of 120 (one hundred twenty) minutes from the original scheduled time.
     
  14. If Flight Disruption occurs due to the factors listed below, the coverage amount will be aggregated per incident among all insured parties, which shall be determined by the Insurer. The Insurer shall not guarantee the events stated below if insurance is purchased during the incident:

    a. Declaration of 'emergency' or similar 'extraordinary' measures taken by government authorities in the destination city, region, or country where the Insured is traveling, or the issuance of a Security and Safety Advisory by the Indonesian Government for that destination.

    b. Determination by the World Health Organization (WHO) that the destination city, country, or region where the Insured is traveling is at risk for COVID-19, monkeypox, or other global pandemics/diseases. Such events will not qualify as valid reasons. If a cancellation, declaration of emergency, warning, notification, determination, or similar government action occurs after the purchase of this insurance, the purchased policy will immediately expire.

    c. Force Majeure: The insurer shall not be liable for delays or non-fulfilment of obligations under this Insurance Product arising from causes beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to Acts of God, government or regulatory authorities, war, fire, flood, explosion, civil unrest, changes in applicable laws, pandemic epidemics, or failures in internet or telecommunications systems.

     
  15. For children under the age of 18 (eighteen), proof of guardian responsibility must be provided with a family card at the time of the claim, or the person authorized to accompany the child during the trip.
     
  16. tiket.com does not manage premiums and only acts as an intermediary between the Insured and Cermati Protect and PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia through the website or app.
     
  17. tiket.com has no obligations and/or responsibilities regarding the purchase of the Insurance product by the Insured.
     
  18. tiket.com has the right, without prior notice, to take necessary actions if any fraudulent activity by the Insured is detected.
     
  19. The Insurance Premium is non-refundable.
     
  20. Coverage Summary will be sent via email to the Insured.
     
  21. The Insured is a tiket.com customer who is individually listed in the policy for something insured under the Flight Disruption Protection, thereby having the right to receive insurance coverage from possible risks that may occur.
     
  22. Claims reporting can be done through the Online Claim Center at m.tiket.com/insurance-claim or for further information, you can contact WhatsApp (chat only) at +62 815-8500-9500 during business hours from 09:00 – 21:00 (except national holidays) or email claims@cermatiprotect.com.
     
  23. If within 90 (ninety) calendar days the Insured is unable to provide a valid bank account, or if the Insured is a Foreign National (non-Indonesian citizen) without a local bank account, then the Insured agrees that the approved claim payment will be transferred to tiket.com to be converted into Blibli Tiket Points. This decision is final and binding, and therefore the Insured is not entitled to file any complaints or objections in the future. Once the Insurance has made the claim payment to the Policyholder or Broker, full responsibility for the claim shall lie with the Policyholder.
     
  24. An insurance company will not process a claim submission if the insurance policy was purchased after the Insured became aware of the event to be claimed, or after information about the event was made public.
     
  25. The Insured is advised to carefully read all explanations about the guarantees and exclusions contained in the policy terms of PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia.
     
  26. The Insured authorizes PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia to use or provide information and/or details regarding the Insured that are available, obtained, or stored by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia (as stated in this Insurance Coverage Request, the Policy, or other documents from the Insurance Product) for the purpose of submitting this Coverage Request, claim payment, and the Insured's service. The Insured also understands that the Insured has the right to correct or add information about the Insured by contacting PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia.
     
  27. The Insured authorizes PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia to use and/or provide information and/or details regarding the Insured in connection with the Insured's Policy based on this Coverage Request, including but not limited to information and/or details about the Premium.
     
  28. By purchasing the Flight Disruption Protection product, the Insured has read, understood, and agreed to all the terms and conditions of the Flight Disruption Protection product knowingly and without coercion from any party, including but not limited to the decision of PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia.
     
  29. Transactions are conducted in Indonesian Rupiah, and if reimbursement is made to a foreign bank, the applicable foreign exchange (For-Ex) rate at the time of the reimbursement transfer will be used. The amount reimbursed will be equivalent to the compensation amount in Rupiah. All costs related to the foreign exchange (For-Ex) transfer shall be borne by the Insured.
     
  30. PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia, Cermati Protect, and tiket.com reserve the right to establish a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) as determined by the three parties. See detailed FUP on the FUP section.
     
  31. If a user is deemed to have exceeded the Fair Usage Policy (FUP), PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia, Cermati Protect, and tiket.com reserve the right to take necessary actions to mitigate potential risks of fraudulent activities or misuse, including imposing restrictions on the sale of Flight Disruption Protection for certain customer categories.
