The staff was great, they were very serviceable and willing to help in any way possible. The room was quiet as advertised it had everything needed. The restaurant brought my food fast and warm under a heavy rain. And the checked out smooth easy and without any rush. Will definitely come back.

If you want tranquility and being alone, this is the place very nice very beautiful and the accommodations in wooden hut with skylights overlooking the forest and balconies very nice. Over the cons are it limited dining in the dining hall the pool is really a big bathtub and barely heated so they have guests it fills up quickly. There is no pamphlet or what to do or hiking trails so basically on your own and they’re far away from the river and from other things hard to find limited Eng. that’s an issue for any guest. Most of all you can see in nearly stages. Staff are not well trained so the service is spotty. One day may be worth the price of charging but today it isn’t.

new forest retreat still has some bugs to fix but a nice quiet, unique place that cost a fortune to build. Expedia has different names and rooms listed, they are trying to fix it. it is pricey, but the town is pretty noisy so if you want more remote quiet, with very good food, this is it. all the rooms are cabins.

I gave the property time to respond to our request for a partial refund, but unfortunately they never replied. The grounds were beautiful, but the service was extremely poor. It was very difficult to find staff for anything during our stay. No one greeted us for at least 10-20 minute on arrival, and throughout the visit we only had about 2–3 employees help us at all. The place felt like a ghost town. One of the most concerning parts of our experience was the massage service for my daughter and her friend. They were covered only with towels instead of proper draping, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. They also said the massage itself seemed unskilled, which made it feel like untrained staff may have been filling in rather than qualified massage therapists. Checkout was also frustrating. There was no one at the front desk for at least 20 minutes when we were leaving, and getting our lunch bill took far too long because we had to wait for someone to appear. We ultimately had to message the property on WhatsApp to get our final bill sent to us, and even then it was incorrect. We were on our way to a scheduled excursion and then leaving for another part of the Dominican Republic, so this created unnecessary stress at the end of our stay. It’s unfortunate, because the property itself is beautiful. But if you stay here, be prepared to be largely on your own. Given the lack of service during our stay, I’m not surprised they also failed to respond to our refund request.
