This was our second visit to carcass because we adore the area and all it has to offer. The noise from the neighboring campsite is terrible, as many other reviewers have noted. Every night during our stay this year, it raged till the dawn. We were told it was one-off last year so went another time, but clearly this was a lie and it was an ongoing rave next door through the summer from completely reckless selfish teens. Utopia must now address this with the campsite next door it will drastically ruin their business otherwise, as we, and it appears that many others, won't return. The amenities on the lake are excellent, the high ropes, pedals are great, and the bike paths to the village and beach are fantastic. The cafe bar service was terrible we waited an hour for drinks longer for the food, which when served was cold, but they couldn't care less and walked away. What a shame, we won't be back because it is in a beautiful location. If you think this is exaggerated and go, beware, the best earplugs won't function and you won't sleep for the entire stay unless of course you want to join the party. Uncertainly, as it is sold as a family retreat.

We just got back from a beautiful six days at utopia lac de carcass. It was absolutely lovely! Perfect for our family with children ages 3 and 7. The campsite is so serene and spacious that they could easily double the number of pitches in the available space but we're relieved they haven't. They were all nestled in the lovely pine forest and illuminated to avoid making it too hot. Due to the reviews about noise, I was very afraid. I was only reading them after we had made a reservation. I probably would not have made it if I had read them before. I sleep very little and can't wear earplugs because I need to be able to hear the kids at night. We had a family tent near the lake, which is probably the closest to the nearby site when it comes to noise. Most nights, there weren't what seemed like raves, not on Saturdays. But either the utopia has taken a different solution or it was over by midnight. Apart from the pleasant sound of a light shower or pine needles dropping on the canvas, there was complete silence. Although we weren't given any information about activities at check, to be fair, we didn't inquire. However, the entire staff was nice. There is a section with lifeguards on the lake, and you can stand quite far enough to do making dens, collecting pine cone

We have visited Lac de carcass three times this year. We adore it here. When departing the main route at Bordeaux and traveling through miles and kilometres of vast pine forests, you can be given the impression that you are taking a different journey. The campsite is large, and the pitches are well-spaced, especially if you hire a safari-style tent. Each is carefully placed and well-directed. We hired a sweet tent with a kitchen and bathroom. Everything is simple, but as expected. Bring a sharp knife, peeler, cutting board, but always a useless kettle not provided, and extra-easy chairs because only 2 are provided per tent. A beautiful, secure, and clean lake surrounds the campsite. Dragonflies and butterflies will come swimming here. While relaxing by the aqua park, I also saw a red squirrel. There, you can hire any kind of equipment there, including SUPs, sailing boats, and kayaks. You can swim out onto a wooden platform for diving etc. Since our last visit, Utopia has made some improvements. The pool is heated, and there is a security officer at night, so there is no noise after 11 a.m. except for offsite entertainment by the lake, which can be very noisy when there is a band on. They have still not accepted good vegetarian options at the food truck, other than margarita
