What a magical place. The grounds, the "island" the flowers and the castle. Beautiful.

I would have liked information on how to check in and where prior to arrival. We ended up driving around and calling to find out what to do. We had tea and also dinner in the castle. It was excellent.

Only one night for Winterval but absolutely loved the quality finish and comfort of our stay in a lodge. Will be back

Property was nice. Wished we had more time to spend. The lack of AC was rather an issue though. It was 27* in the unit making it impossible to sleep.

This is such a comfortable spot to come with friends and family: the lodges hold a ton of people and have a number of common areas for everyone to hang out. The island itself is lovely, and the path around it affords a beautiful walk around the golf course and by deer, squirrels.

The lodge (inside) was clean, roomy, and comfortable. Outside there were kids toys, food wrappers, and other debris on the ground. It appeared that there were multiple families, most likely refugees, living full time in a number of the lodges next to resort visitors/tourists. There are no dining options on the island during the week, although we were told by the front desk staff (incorrectly) that the golf club did serve dinner. The castle was off limits due to private events but the walking trails were enjoyable. The golf course was in excellent condition, prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly.

The lodge that we stayed in was comfortable and clean, but the rest of the property was in poor condition. The wifi didn't work the first day. We called and they said they were out of range boosters, nothing they could do. The activity aspect of the lodges was really disappointing: There were no nets on the soccer goals or soccer balls available, the crocket was missing most of the balls, the tennis court was filthy and there was no archery or falconing (which we expected based on photos and a video they have on youtube). We did enjoy hitting some balls on the range and the afternoon tea was delightful.

The grounds are amazing and the Castle is beautiful from the outside. We were not allowed to enter the castle because it was rented out for our entire stay. We stayed in the Lodges which would have been nice had some issues been addressed. First off the doors were left open when we got there, front and back, so we thought maybe we were in the wrong place. The hot water lasted 5 mins and never came back. Main bedroom door leading outside was broken and would not shut. Had a chain holding it together. Same issue in one of the other bedrooms. The floors had water damage on them which I assume was from the door not being able to shut. The curtains did not fully cover the window which is a pain this time of year when it is light most of the day. Bathroom shower knob did not work. None of the bathrooms have power outlets in them. We got there late so we did not get to try the only available restaurant as the other ones were rented out so there was no breakfast either. Only solution I was given was to go to another building to take a shower at 10:30 at night. Not ideal for someone with kids. Overall terrible experience and the staff was nice but offered no refund or solutions other than going somewhere else to shower. For the price this is not worth your money and time.

We actually left a day early than we had booked. The property was unkept, especially the landscape. We woke up on the last day very early in the moring to tractor work. They were working on some underground pipe. They also delivered one large bottle of water for three people as they received notification that the water was unsafe to drink.
