There are a couple of grocery stores nearby and the prices are normal, even cheaper than back in Canada, since the place is not in a tourist area. The host was very nice and was very proactive at giving us directions and figuring out the best routes. We stayed at a lower priced room on our second night and they helped us by moving our things so we wouldn't miss our tour. The place overall is very clean, not too quiet but it was quiet enough to be able to sleep. There are local buses and streetcars nearby. Overall it was a great experience.

Great value. We chose to stay a bit further out and we got a better value for the price. The guest house is very private and quiet and located near everything. We had our own room and private bathroom. There is a small train right outside that brings you to the main stations. Or there is a metro station about a 10 minute walk away. Very conveniently located. If we had stayed closer to the city it would have been loud and full of people. The room was cleaned all the time and we were provided with towels and shampoo and other amenities. The host had great communication and we felt safe.

We like our stay at Simon's House. 3 good restaurants near to go eat. Train and bus just a block away. Stores to buy food and to buy passes for the bus. Room very clean. The lady in the front very friendly.

It's hard to tell from pictures on the internet, but this little hotel is really lovely. Responsive staff. Surprisingly quiet for central Rome. Not in a touristy part of Rome but near the main train station and on a tram line. Highly recommend.

Slightly off the beaten track for tourists, but still close enough to walk to the coliseum in about an hour. Excellent transit connection if you’re tired of walking. We used the trams to connect to the metro easily. The neighbourhood felt safe enough to go out for supper in the evening with the family. Lots of cafes and shops all around. The room was clean and comfortable. It’s a great place to stay.

Our stay at Simon’s guest house was wonderful. It has an elevator so our luggage for our cruise was no issue. The Owner Simon and his wife helped us down with our suitcases and were so sweet and hospitable. We flew in the day before our cruise and wanted to see Rome before we boarded the ship. Our 91 year old Mom was with us so the elevator was awesome

Excellent property & staff, great links to Rome via bus & metro only 10 mins walk away. Tram noise is a bit loud but doesn’t detract from how clean & nice the property is. Surrounding area even though very busy, always felt safe.

I felt completely safe in the hotel room/building. The front door seemed to be a safe vault! (No lie) We are not used to a big city with a lot of graffiti. When we first approached the face of the building, my husband was a little worried (there was a hardware store there - with lots of graffiti). Once we got through the locked gate, and were buzzed into the complex it's like you leave the city behind. I have to say we had a great stay, it was clean and surprisingly quiet for how close it was to the tram - which we found very convenient, just a half block away. There is a grocery store a block away too. It's not a touristy section at all, mix of residential/urban, but safe! The room we stayed could have easily slept 4 (there were just two of us). But the bathroom was across the little lobby, that was the only awkward part. Though the bathroom was private in that we could lock it etc. I get up a lot at night- and had to cover my nightgown as I might have walked into someone in the lobby while getting to the bathroom. My husband did one morning - when someone was checking out very early (5:30 am). I believe the guest house was on the fourth floor of a residential apt. building and has a small elevator. It was clean, quite and safe - locked gate, locked building entrance & locked door. Katie at the front desk was extremely helpful during our stay, she really went above and beyond -- when I noticed after check out I had left my computer brick and adapter in the room!
