Loved everything about this Riad. Perfect location. On a quiet street but steps away from Souks, Jemaa-el, and hotel Tazi which is the pick up point for most excursions. The room were clean, comfortable and aesthetic to the cultural. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to help. Breakfast was so nice on the roof and delicious. Highly recommend!

I was originally disappointed when I arrived as the riad was smaller than photos suggested and it seemed in need of some maintenance. However, since staying in six (!) different properties during my trip I've come to learn more about Riads and realise that most in this price bracket are the same - the buildings are old! Stairs will be steep, narrow, and uneven. Breakfast is traditional and rooms are dark. This all leads to the charms of Riads, and this one is a good example of a fair priced and well positioned riad within the Medina. Staff were helpful but not over bearing. They will arrange a hammam, transport and luggage storage. Overall a good experience. Although they did change the name on the day I arrived leading to some confusion! Was previously Riad Mockha Mockha

Lovely little place, everything was perfect with helpful staff and lovely setting. Within a short walkable distance to Jamaa Lafna. The only downside was the check in which was very slow as our room wasn't ready until 4.

Risultato?

Rooms on the ground floor were outside of the pool area so you had little privacy unless you shut the curtains all day. Clean rooms, good location. Sufficient enough amenities apart from first night where we had no hot water. At breakfast we think they were reusing pots of jam from the day before, as on our second day we had apricot jam but underneath the top layer was strawberry jam - which we had on the day before. The staff seemed hospitable at first but this quickly changed. We had an issue with our booking which required the riad to get in contact with Expedia. The riad lied to us and said that they had heard nothing from Expedia, despite Expedia showing proof that they had. We were assured on our leaving day they the riad would sort out this issue for us, yet we were continually lied to. They have since ignored my follow up emails. This is very poor customer service, I would not recommend this riad based on this.

The pictures make it seem like the rooms are nice and bright, when in reality a lot of the rooms are on the lower level where it’s super dark and humid, and also extremely loud. My room was on the ground floor next to the little “pool” and that’s where they sit people who arrive before bringing them to their room, so basically the room’s already dark and you need to keep your curtains closed at all time to try and have a bit of privacy (it’s basically as if you had no window). It’s super loud too because people are hanging out just outside the room and you can hear all the noise from the reception and the neighboring rooms, and the plumbing which was making weird noises throughout the night. I was awaken constantly by the phone ringing at reception (at 5am), people walking in and out, the alarm clock in the next room, the plumbing, etc. The staff is nice but not much they can do about the crappy rooms. They did move one of my friends on day 2 from the horrible room she was in (immediately next to reception with virtually no window) to a nicer room on the highest floor. Not a question of price as all the rooms cost the same (we tried). Bathroom was quite run down (thankfully it was dark so I probably didn’t see how dirty it was). Apart from the location which is convenient to explore the Medina, there’s nothing I would compliment about this hotel.

Everything was fine except they failed to provide the one thing that is fundamental to a hotel: a place to sleep. Our room was directly off of the lobby and there was a window between our bedroom and the lobby. We heard EVERYTHING from the lobby all day and ALL NIGHT long. Every check in, check out, inquiry, phone call, delivery etc etc ALL NIGHT LONG. You cannot sleep in a hotel lobby and you cannot sleep in these rooms. I complained after the first night and management refused to do anything. TIP: when you get a valid complaint and you refuse to address it, don´t thank the guest for their "understanding". Assumes facts not in evidence!
