It’s a small town and this place was the heart of it! Everyone was so friendly and the rooms were rustic but clean and comfortable. The little store had everything you needed and the Capitol Burger Food Truck was delicious! The pool and hot tub were perfect after hiking.

In spite of reading many positive reviews of this place, I wondered how clean and nice a place called Chuckwagon Lodge and Store would be, Well, the answer is, very clean, very nice, great staff, and a well-equipped general store open well into the evening, with incredibly friendly staff. Great location. As an added bonus, during our two-night stay, we struck up conversations with two different groups of travelers, both times spending a half-hour or more exchanging pleasant experiences and ideas with them, This place just seems to draw friendly and sociable travelers,

The property was close proximity to Capital Reef NP & was a quaint place to stay. The pool was nice after hiking the canyons. The staff wasn’t not helpful or even thankful after my husband fixed the sink! The General Store prices were outrageous!!

We stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin with a kitchenette at Austin’s Chuckwagon Inn and really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location was convenient…only about 15 minutes from Capitol Reef National Park. The property had great amenities including an outdoor pool and hot tub, laundry facilities, a general store, bakery, and even a food truck on site. We especially appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available in the store for guests staying on the property. Overall, it was a relaxing and convenient place to stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others visiting the area.

We stayed for 2 nights in cabin #9. 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen & bathroom. Small porch with an area for parking & BBQ pit. Very clean & quiet location. We had a great stay & after not sleeping well the 2 nights prior I slept very well… both nights. Bathroom is actually a nice size and not a shoebox. Staff was nice checking in/out. Convenient to local attractions. General store & deli in walking distance across the parking lot. Our tour pickup was in front of the store. Laundry was $2 for each ..W/D & multiple machines. Wish we could have stayed more days as we enjoyed the our stay & location a lot.

The room was clean and the beds super comfortable. The general store was convenient for morning coffee and tea. One could also get breakfast there. We opted for to-go sandwiches which were delicious. It is early in the season and only the hot tub was available. My husband enjoyed it after a full day of hiking. This is a quaint and comfortable motel in a beautiful setting. Would stay again when in the area.
