Love the peacefulness of the setting, can't be beat. The wait staff at the Lodge restaurant and cafe were great. Hubby is a wheelchair user. Please, stop standing there waiting for us as we a struggling to open, hold the door open and get through the door. Helping another customer, I have no problem with you not offering an extra hand. Just standing there waiting for us to get to the desk to check in or go anywhere in the building, walk over and help. Seating in the restaurant. If the table closet to the hostess stand is available, please remove a chair and put us there. That table had 6-8 feet of open space behind it. We were left at a table with chairs backing to other chairs because it was that servers turn to have a customer. You do that and I will always drag the chair from my table to the middle aisle as, well as the one at the table behind the wheelchair space.

Property was basic but clean. Traveled for leisure with family. Room and bathroom was nice. There was shampoo, conditioner and gel in pumps in the shower. Hairdryer Very little counter space in the bathroom. But not a reason to not go again, just noting. There was a fridge but no freezer in the room. Coffee machine with Starbucks pods available in the room. No elevator so note this if you have mobility issues and would need first floor. The room had a nice ceiling fan and AC. The view from the balcony in the room was absolutely amazing both at sunset and sunrise. As well as when the stars came out. The stars were something I’ve never experienced before at home. Free parking on site. Two restaurants on site for meal times. Lodge is 15 miles into the national park and you must pay the admission fee for the park to stay at the lodge. There is a gas station right by the lodge so that was a savior.

Beautiful lodge, bathrooms were a bit dated but otherwise it had all the amenities one needs. Close to a camp store with good food options and kid friendly hikes.

To Enron’s are more than adequate in size, the a/c worked and kept the room comfortable. It was quiet with no loud neighbors. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was extremely loud. Surely, something quieter would work just as well or separate it from the light. The restaurant meals were excellent and presented in an attractive manner and the wait staff was helpful and attentive. The taproom had a much better menu than on previous stays and was clean and reasonably well appointed. Overall, our stay was very nice and refreshing.

What a fantastic stay! The only problem was I couldn't stay longer! The cabin was clean, pet friendly, and steps away from trails and the lodge with a gift shop, dining room and taproom. A quick walk to the Blackrock Trail viewing point at sunset is a must see!

The Lodge is exactly what you expect as you pull up. The Staff were extremely accommodating giving us tips and suggestions. The rooms lol lol have NO TV so you have to talk with each other. We liked the Lodge.

Had a delux queen room. Room came with a refrigerator which was a surprise because it wasn't listed as having one. Great view of the valley from balcony.Short walk to main lodge where there was a restaurant.

Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. A quick drive along Skyline Drive will bring you to several other iconic hikes of all difficulty levels, and many excellent views right from the road. Watching the fog roll up the mountains and through the trees around the lodge is magical. The one thing to be aware of is that the bathrooms are pretty basic and the water pressure is meh. But the ambiance and location can't be beat.

Really cool old school full of History area to stay in the Shenandoah National Park. Feels great to be immersed in nature. Nice little Lodge area with overlook. A few small downsides... Person at front desk wouldn't change our room so that we could stay another night even though they had plenty of rooms available open for two nights. They said it was because I booked on Expedia. But this sounds like it's just red tape nonsense. Just help the person in front of you and forget about the he computer. Also wouldn't allow us to purchase bottled water even though there was a fridge with water right in front of us because it wasn't the right time of day. Ridiculous.
