Best place we stayed on our trip! Gorgeous location, spectacular camp themed room with fun camp decor, great staff, delicious home made bagels! Our only regret was not staying longer! Book this one NOW

This was one of the best stays and experiences we’ve had. The property was very clean, well maintained, and exactly as shown in the pictures. The room was comfortable, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the overall experience felt welcoming and peaceful. The staff was friendly, responsive, and very helpful throughout our stay. The only feedback I have is about the café. The coffee and food quality could be improved. We preferred exploring nearby local coffee shops and cafés instead.

Camp Deforest was such a wonderful stay! The cabins are beautifully maintained with so much attention to detail, making everything feel cozy, clean, and welcoming. The staff was absolutely awesome, friendly, helpful, and truly made the experience even better. Plus, it’s so close to beautiful Camden, one of the prettiest towns in Maine. While you’re there, Fanny’s Bistro, Fresh and Co is a must-visits for amazing food, and don’t leave without stopping by River Ducks Ice Cream for the perfect sweet treat. Definitely a place worth experiencing!

We were passing through on our way to Bar Harbor . So glad we found this hidden gem. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was so well decorated and welcoming. During our stay we had dinner, drinks and spent some time at one of the fire pits, so relaxing. Topped off the day with some lawn games. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would not normally spend a night in Camden but are thinking of a return trip in the future.

I ended up at Camp Deforest serendipitously, but it was one of the highlights of my trip! This beautifully renovated motel from the 1950s has a summer camp theme that's the perfect blend of nostalgia and whimsy. So much thought was put into the design; anywhere your eye lands there will be something cool to look at. The rooms were super comfortable, adorably decorated, and absolutely spotless. And the staff was awesome, too! I was traveling solo, and both Zach at checkin and Joe the next morning were super welcoming and friendly. I literally couldn't have asked for anything more — except for maybe a random moose sighting on the lawn, which, if they could have arranged for me they probably would have.

Beautiful restored mid century motel with huge individual cabins apportioned with fun retro items like a typewriter and old fashioned radio. Manager Ben was a terrific host, he even lit a campfire for us in the evening! It’s a special place. ❤️

This was the best little gem and surprise of our trip! We ended up booking Camp Deforest on our honeymoon after another hotel experience had us searching last minute for an alternative. It honestly worked out for the best! I can’t wait to go back to Camp! Everything about it is amazing. From the cozy cabin and the fire pits to the amazing staff and hospitality. Every detail was clearly thought through and then they added a little more. As a graphic designer, I swooned over the thought and detail around the whole place. Even took home some cute souvenirs that make us smile every time we remember our visit. We highly recommend for a romantic mini cabin getaway or a family adventure! Wish we lived closer so make a regular thing.

Terrific stay, with a vintage summer camp atmosphere. The staff were great. It was walking distance to the ocean and a short drive to Rockland, Camden, and Belfast.

Clean room, cute decor, we utilized lots of amenities such as puzzle, shuffle board, disc golf basket, fire pit for snores, robes, shower and products, and of course, breakfast in the morning was delish with yummy coffee!

From the moment you arrive, Camp DeForest strikes a balance between retro charm and contemporary comfort. The cabins and lodge rooms are beautifully refurbished with thoughtful design touches, vintage-inspired decor, and amenities like heated floors, cozy furnishings, and quality bedding that make you feel instantly at ease.

Room was spotless and beautifully put together, in my opinion. Huge fan of MCM and camp theme so wow, just perfect . Perfectly perfect, as Moostletoe says. Thank you so much. Staff beyond accommodating and kind. The office is cozy and the continental breakfast, though simple, is campy and clearly high quality. Home made sourdough bread, I believe I heard.

This is a magical place. Feels like an upscale summer camp. The rooms and lounge are so beautifully decorated. We stayed in one of the private cabins. The heated floors in the bathroom were so nice in the late fall. Everything was so comfortable. I think kids would really love this. I know we adults did. Would love to go back.

Amazing experience! Camp De Forest is extremely well appointed, the staff showed excellent customer service, and the vibe was fun, comfortable, and homey. I love they are open all year, and will definitely be back this winter. S'mores by the fire was the perfect end to a lovely stay!
