John Muir Inn was well maintained and situated with all the other Kings Canyon buildings including a restaurant, gift shop, and the Park Welcome center. Our stay was great. Vincent the evening staff at the counter made us fresh baked cookies each night. The inn has a “lodge” feel, and many of the guests met in the main open area downstairs in front of the fireplace to eat or play games in the evening. The Inn provided many family games that you could take and play. Overall was a great experience and recommend the stay.

This National Park Lodge is the nicest place I have stayed in the many parks I have visited. My only issue was the very soft bed in the ADA room we stayed in.

The Lodge was excellent. The only complaint was at the Grant Grove Village restaurant, which is the only close place to eat, and within walking distance, was very, very, under staffed. Expect long waits.

Parking for guests was limited but we had no issue parking in spots in the times we arrived. The attentiveness of the staff and amenities in the lodge were great. Coffee, games, tables and chairs, mini store, water filling station were great. The room was perfect for this time of year not needing air conditioning.

The location was the best of both parks. Best visitors center and walk to dinner. Kings Canyon was amazing. Easy trip to Sequoia hikes. The lodge was great. Loved tea and puzzles in the lobby. Nice big room with a great shower. We’ll be back.

Stayed for three nights in early April and had a great experience. The lodge is charming, with friendly staff and tasteful décor throughout. Our room was a comfortable size and included a mini fridge, and while there’s no in-room microwave, one is conveniently available in the lobby. The lobby itself is a highlight, perfect for families, with books, games, a cozy fireplace, and complimentary cookies. The patio is another excellent spot to relax, especially with the incredibly comfortable rocking chairs that make it hard to leave. The internet connection was surprisingly strong. It is an absolute lifesaver since we had no cellular service. The only drawback is the location which is about a 40–50 minute drive along a winding road to reach the General Sherman area of Sequoia National Park. That said, we would still happily recommend this lodge overall.
