This year, we enjoyed the Christmas break at Oak Knoll Lodge with our children and grandchildren, and we shared some incredible memories! The main lodge and cabins are both a little rustic in the 1940 s and 1950 s, but provide all the facilities youd want, such as strong wifi, a flyscreen, a gas fireplace, and so on. We spent four nights in the cabin, and it was really cozy and immaculate. The vintage pendleton wool blankets were a nice touch, and the bed was exceptionally cozy. On christmas Eve, the owner, Linda, allowed us to borrow several sleds during the afternoon after spending the week sledding down the hills that were directly across the street from the main lodge. The front desk personnel was incredibly helpful and courteous, as were their recommendations for eateries and pubs down in the neighborhood. The staff was busy with snowblowing and salting paths from the cabins to the main lodge due to the fact that the area received 12 feet of snow over the course of the week. We saw the same staff member working on the same night tucking a Ford 150 truck up the tiny hill to the main lodge. Excellent people certainly go above and beyond! When the summer, we can get some boating time on the enormous bear lake, which is right across the street. The village has a lot of great restaurants and pubs. The area

We had a wonderful experience here. The owner, Lindsey, is always quick to respond to texts. The office is closed during a closed holiday, and the building is in the midst of renovation. Mostly the living room furniture, our cabin was only partially renovated. The cabin was quite roomy, particularly the kitchen. Although we were unable to provide a few amenities, such as extra toilet paper, a dish sponge, and eating utensils, we were able to get in touch with Linda to deliver more. Asking for extra trash bags before checkout is one thing I would suggest. Even though the solitary bed in the bedroom is a daybed, it could fit one person in a hurry. Nice patio with a picnic table for relaxing. Would stay again.

Disclaimer As we weren't even sure we would be staying here and were booked into this cabin by the surprise travel agency pack up go, we had no expectations. Nonetheless, the travel agency did exactly what we said we prefer a property away from the crowds in a natural environment, close to outdoor activities. However, due to wildfire concerns, all of our planned hiking was dropped and we ended up going into town earlier than we had anticipated. Although, this property is perfectly positioned for forest recreation and maybe snow sports, which we do not do. I get it, the front office was contactless, and they had phone numbers posted if we needed anything. I can't say whether the staff was helpful because we have never been to this region and usually rely on lodging workers to provide recommendations, etc. It was infuriating that there was no staff present. The lobby looked welcoming and tastefully renovated, but nobody else was staying here until Saturday. We did not see anyone else check in. Our cabin appeared to have recently been renovated, but maybe 80 of it was mildly dirty, with blinds that didn't fit or were not properly installed, and fixtures that seemed to be decades old. Our cabin didn't seem to be working, and there wasn't seem to be working heat. Fortunately, midseptember wasn't cold, otherwise we would have called about the heat. The jacuzzi did

I wish had I booked this place directly from the lodge rather than through Expedia for a couple of reasons. First, I thought I booked an individual cabin, but it ended up being one cabin split in two, so less space. Second, Expedia charged me at the point of booking on their site, and when I got to the lodge, the attendant told me that the reservation still showed as having not been paid. So, they charged me once again, until I showed him my receipt from Expedia and he confirmed himself that I had already been charged. The attendant refunded what he charged me. Since we were there on 4th of July weekend, it was hot and our cabin did not have air conditioning. The attendant was kind enough to bring us a fan, but it didn't really cool down the cabin. The lodge is dog friendly and very close to a trailhead, which was a plus.
