While watching the 2016 Olympics, we stayed at Squint Azul. It is strategically located near all the bars and delicious eateries, and also has quick access to the metro. Walking is recommended in the neighborhood. It is close to the famous stairs and other attractions. Every day, breakfast is served. The staff was very helpful in giving recommendations for places to go and what to see. In conclusion, I will visit there again. Thanks for the great introduction to Rio.

The be provides you with a real feel of Rio de Janeiro life. In the hills with relatively easy access to the metro gloria which sits at the bottom of the hill, but please be aware that you will usually need to take a taxi back because it's a very steep walk or use the walk as a workout. The area is very safe, and the restaurants on the same road as the be are all good, particularly the one next door. The downside take care of the be stairs, which are all steep at night, because the lighting is not always bright. The dogs! Local dogs seem to bark loudly at night, so bring earplugs. Don't bother with the room with a jacuzzi it takes ages to fill up and warm up and there is no view room 7. This room is also extremely dark, and rooms are better higher with views and natural light, though these rooms might be a little smaller.

I found this one challenging to rate. The staff was friendly and helpful, and when the shower didn't have hot water, I was given a different room to take a shower while they fixed it. Excellent location with lovely cafes nearby. Breakfast was nice, and even big cooked breakfast lovers would be pleased. Although the common areas were beautiful, I did spend some time there because the internet in the room didn't work. But the room 7, which I reserved with other reviews on here, was tiny, dark, and with little natural light, making it difficult to sort cases. It may have been damp, but it was difficult to tell in the rain. I did see in one of the lower-cost rooms and liked it better, and frankly, I believe the more expensive ones are due to the outdoor spa bath, which I don't think it's worth it. Curtains must be repaired in every situation. Yes, there are steps, but they do go above and beyond to assist with luggage. I didn't mind the noise, but some people might be annoyed by barking dogs as this is a residential area. In the front rooms at the top, I believe the tram would have been pretty noisy. Despite this, the tram provides free transportation into the lap. My best advice is to get a fixed cost transportation here because taxis seem to think it is further up the hill, and they miss it. We should not return when visiting Rio, as the value of what you get is negligible. Sincerely, the room was straightforward and, despite being modestly charming, the neighborhood was insufficient or intriguing to warrant three days of study. Therefore, we paid $225 a night for a premium hotel during the carnival. We should have been closer to the beaches. However, the bone to the rim was enjoyable, there are a few fantastic restaurants close by, and the carnival atmosphere was pleasant. Additionally, the staff was very supportive, and the breakfast was better than average. However, when the crowds were gone, the graffiti-detailed area left a bad impression, and I wished we had spent that money elsewhere. Contrary to a few of the other unfortunate individuals, we did feel secure all the time we were there.

A great introduction to Rio de Janeiro. At the safe It Theresa district, a variety of traditional Rio de Janeiro bars and restaurants can be reached on foot in 5 minutes, and then the English is very good and the staff is very helpful and can speak good English. The breakfast menu is really varied with many fruits and delicious eggs. The room is clean and comfy, and the metro can be reached in the opposite direction in 10 minutes. The view of the city center and the north is beautiful.
