This is such a special place, you feel like you've reached the end of the world. The trek through the jungle to get to Sunset Beach is quite an experience in itself - a bit challenging but for me that was part of the adventure. Arrived just in time for sunset which is the main reason I wanted to get over to that side of the island! The bungalow I stayed in was simple & comfortable, loved hanging in the hammock listening to the sounds of the forest around. The food was very good and staff were friendly. I borrowed some snorkelling gear and went off to see all the amazing fish right on the beach. It's a very quiet and relaxing place to spend some time.

Best food we had in Cambodia! Really nice people running the place, and home to the nicest and cutest dogs in the world! The staff works tirelessly all day long and it shows! The beach was the nicest beach I've ever been to, and worth the jungle trek (wear good shoes!).

I got a tent, a little more spacious than expected and with a safe which was great. Experience is most likely you will have to walk 30-40 mins through the jungle to get there, electricity runs 7am-12am so it’s beautiful to look at the sky. Bring insect repelent and always wear shoes, one day I went to do night photography and saw a small scorpion on the way, remember you are in the jungle so is expected to have some creepy crawlers around. If you need complete silence to sleep this is not for you as you hear waves, insects and birds all the time.

Strom bzw.

Lovely spot, we rented a basic bungalow with shared bathrooms (15$). The bathrooms were cleaned on a regular basis. The best I've seen so far on this type of place. The food is delicious. Quiet a hike to get there.

Unfortunately, my husband wasn't feeling too well so we didn't get to do any snorkeling or swimming as we had planned. But chilling in our hammock, listening to the waves crashing and enjoying the view was very pleasant! We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice and friendly. I was surprised by the how reasonable the prices were considering that there is nothing around... and the plates come full! We even shared the noodles and it was more than enough! I was expecting a bigger beach, but it was still really nice. The bungalow is pretty basic, but we didn't expect any fancier and all we needed was there. It got pretty hot at night though, since there were no fan, but we left the door open and it was ok (we made sure it was closed before the storms came in though!). The hike through the jungle, especially the last bit before reaching the bungalows, is definitely not for everybody. Had we realised before crossing through the jungle that we could have left our backpacks at the diving center, it would have been way easier! But we did it! Kudos to the staff carrying all the supplies (beers, ice, water, etc) through the jungle every day to accommodate us!

Very quiet comfortable place (except for the first night rap music at the restaurant) where I can recommend to nature-seekers who want to be away from mobile gadgets, hectic group tourists, and noisy beach bars. Expedia booking site must clearly inform travelers beforehand, however, that 45 minute-jangle path with some ups and downs is the only way to reach this family-run property. By doing so, only the suitable travelers will be interested in booking it. A decade ago, we were able to get a quiet beach experience like this easier and nearer. I strongly hope that even after 10-20 years, this place will stay as quiet and beautiful as it is now.

The location and surroundings are truly amazing and it really is the appeal of the place. It might be why they don’t see customer service as important because they know people will book it anyway. We felt we were more in the way and “crashing” the staff’s vacation rather than they were there for us. Also worth mentioning that I got food poisoning and when I told a guy working there it seemed to be not a big deal. FYI: tent number 6 smells like a sewerage system.

Don't get me wrong, sunset beach is astonishing, clear blue water and beautiful scenery we loved it every minute we were there. But Mr. Robinson im sorry to tell you that your place is not as advertised and this can confuse your guests. We booked trough Expedia an 18 square meter room with private toilet and we got a 4 square meter room with shared toilet and no fan. The next day we changed to a room that looked more to what we booked but we were charged for this "upgrade", not a very nice gesture from your staff. Speaking about the staff, there is absolutely nobody in charge of the hotel and you can feel that the khmer people living there as staff dont care much about anything. We are not complaining guests anywhere we travel and we didn't complain here, so we went with the flow and enjoyed our time there. Looks like there are better options along the same beach. Thank you, hope you fix this mistakes for future guests.

This was an awful experience overall. First of all, it is not clear on hotels.com that you need to do a 40min hike to get to this hotel. I only discovered this accidentally a few days before arrival cause I wanted to clarify which ferry would bring me to this part of the island, turns out, there isn't one! This should definitely be made much more clear before allowing people to book, because I had way too much luggage with me to do a 40min jungle trek and no one would allow me to cancel it prior, which was frustrating. So I actually had to book another hotel just to leave my stuff there. In addition, the bungalow was infested with geckos. When I complained, they told me if they remove them, they'll just come back. They tried to show me another bungalow option that maybe had less geckos but there were bats flying around and the staff just looked at me like I was crazy when I said I had an issue sleeping with bats!!! So I didn't sleep at all throughout the night because of insects, geckos, and all kinds of other critters. I wanted to cancel the 2nd night I booked for all of the above reasons and thank god for hotels.com because this awful hotel wouldn't let me cancel even though I gave them 5day advance notice that I wouldn't be able to stay the second night cause I would have to cross the jungle again to retrieve my bags. Anyways, needless to say, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Saracen bay is much nicer and has more options. Consider yourself warned!
