Our stay at Bastide de Bellegarde was easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, it felt like home. The property is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and has a warmth that immediately puts you at ease. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. What truly sets this place apart is the host, Brian. He is incredibly welcoming and personable, and he creates an experience that goes beyond just a stay. Breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to, not just for the food, but for the conversations with him and other guests. It made everything feel more personal and connected. We also had dinner one evening, and it was unforgettable. Brian prepares meals intentionally, and you can taste the care in every detail. The chicken curry was layered with flavor, and the pavlova with cream, strawberries, and a touch of black pepper was unexpectedly delicious. It felt more like being hosted in someone’s home than staying at a hotel. Parking was easy and convenient, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing. By the end of our stay, even after speaking with other guests, we all agreed this was the best place we stayed during our trip. Brian also shared insights into the Provençal way of life, which added another layer to the experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic stay in Provence, this is it. A reset you didn’t know you needed.

This was the most amazing stay experiences we have ever had and we have traveled for 3 decades. Its an indescribable fairytale experience. Its makes your soul feel amazing and filled with joy. The irish gentleman who owns and runs this paridise property is supper personable, funny, and an amazing human. He is also an amazing chef and he can customize the food to your liking that creates the most intamate wholesome experience. After a couple days we felt like he was family and missed him when we left. This is not your stale conventional hotel experience in a stressful busy city, yet it is a 14 minute drive to avignon main city center. We will go back every chance we get. It feels peaceful, intimate, and amazingly unique. The hotel rooms, dining areas and other rooms are decorated like you really feel you are in a castle which you are! We are so grateful to have found it. Can't recommed this personable unique stay enough. The home history is fascinating. How the incredibly intelligent owner renovated this property with all modern conveniences blew me away.

I had the privilege of spending four nights at this gem of a B&B! The labor of love for this property by it's owner Brian shows throughout. Every detail - from the furnishings to the heated towel racks and the delicious brekfast and dinner was perfect! This was a one of a kind experience, thank you!

From the moment we arrived, Brian made us feel so genuinely welcome. The food was incredible every single day: delicious, generous portions, and full of flavour. We were honestly blown away. Our room was so cozy that we had the best sleep this trip here. The highlight was Brian’s complimentary homemade walnut wine. We absolutely loved it! Such a unique and thoughtful touch that made our stay feel even more special. Highly highly recommend staying here. We’d love to come back!

We stayed for 4 AMAZING days/nights! Brian was the BEST host and accommodated all of our needs! He prepared meals all 4 nights that were 5 start quality! Offering cocktails prior to dinner and wine with dinner made it so easy. Our bed was the most comfortable and the room smelled like lavender!! We rode his bicycles into Avignon Centre and it took 15 min. This location is so close to so many other “must see” towns!!

This is one of the most remarkable places we have ever stayed! The location is quiet and serene though it is just minutes away from downtown Avignon. The accommodations are stylish and comfortable. The food is spectacular. Proprietor Brian Kenna is personable and anxious that your visit will meet and exceed every expectation. He personally cooks and serves the wonderful meals offering an enthusiast’s appreciation for fine food and wine. He is quick to meet any request from an afternoon Coca-Cola to a morning green tea with fresh ginger. We can’t recommend Bastide de Bellegarde highly enough! Five stars all around!

This experience has been spectacular. Absolute opulence. Brian is a true artist and the most enthusiastic host, obsessed with your comfort, aesthetic delight, and joy. Come hungry, and pace yourself at dinner. He will curate an absolute culinary voyage for you, with so many courses, I lost count. To say he has lovingly restored this property is an understatement- every time you turn a corner, you see that with the colors, furniture and artifacts from this region, he has painted every possible scene with gloriously big, bold strokes. This man is all at once a passionate decorator, chef, curator, storyteller, historian, sommelier, comedian and and most gracious concierge who has found his calling, fortunately for us all. If you let the bastide become the shining jewel of your journey, you’ll definitely feel you’ve lived well.

A bucolic B&B steps away from the walled city of Avignon. Host/Owner Brian is a delight - friendly and warm while going the extra mile to ensure his guests have a peaceful stay. Rooms are nicely decorated and you feel as though you’re in a well appointed suite of a friend’s home rather than a hotel/B&B. They have free bikes to borrow to take into town, which is a great plus, considering taking a car into the walled city is a challenge! Couldn’t recommend this place high enough! Oh, and you’ll be well fed at breakfast (included in stay) with great French pastries, an assortments of fruits, cereals, meats and cheeses, not to mention a great French omelette made with local herbs! I have stayed here twice now, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time I’m in Avignon!

Our stay at Bastide de Bellegrade was absolutely wonderful. The place is an elegant oasis just minutes from Avignon. We had a car so we appreciated the ease of parking on property. Brian, Camille and Isabel were professional and welcoming. It was a delight to enjoy 2 dinners on property during our 3 night stay. Brian is a fantastic chef. Breakfast was also excellent. Thanks Isabel. Our sightseeing of the area was enhanced because we were so well rested each night. As I told Brian as we were leaving, my husband and I felt like were home. Our new French home.
