Its fine for just one night. Unfortunately towels and shampoo / shower gel are not included in the hotel rate. It was great to be able to reach lake ashi within 15 minutes walking distance!.

This place is much cheaper than other places in the area. And while it is a hotel, it almost seems like tavern in some ways. The building could use professional renovations, which is the only two drawbacks. Additionally, its also quite ten minutes up the hill, not causing me to worry, but it should be noted if you have etiquette and plan on taking cabs unless you are carrying oversized bags. Apart from that, the rooms and beds are fine. Onsens are excellent and private. Youll need to use the cold hose for recharging because the outdoor one is so hot that you could cook food there at 80 degrees. It appears to be the ideal temperature downstairs onsengs below. A very nice, extremely friendly man who enjoys talking. Despite the buildings age, you can tell he loves the place and puts his heart into running it.

We visited there in may 2023. Although the building is not particularly clean, the interior of the room is fine. The bathroom and toilet are identical to those found at a typical business hotel. Comfortable beds are provided. Hot springs are hot sulfur springes. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the owner was friendly. Shampoo and soap must be requested at the front desk. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.
