The only good thing about this place is the location. But at least it is clean and also if you bite me on the legs and feet then you realize that there are bed bugs. This place is also for 3 people so we may have found a better place to stay. Despite the good quality, the only negative thing is the service from the owner who is friendly on the phone.

We spent one night at Rakutenya Guest House. Great location and walk to many eateries. It has a hostel-like feel with communal bathrooms and kitchenettes. The owner was really nice and accommodating. There is laundry on site and AC available for 100 yen hours. Around 12 am, we heard a lot of noise, but other than that, everything was fine and very cheap!.

The hostel was comfortable, I stayed in it in May. Despite the positive reviews I read online, the owner was not at all helpful. When I requested if he could keep our luggage safe for a night while we go camping and collect it the next day, he refused, even with the offer to pay just to keep it. Even though I've received such assistance numerous times before, this is the first time I have experienced such an outcome. Additionally, when asked for recommendations for islands or ferry times, he appeared to be quite reluctant to assist. In addition, the toilet was covered in ants and appeared unlocked afterward. Overall, the service was disappointing. Relatively affordable pricing and an apex location are good points.

In general, this is a great, inexpensive place to stay. Rakutenya is in a city in Ishigawa, close to lots of restaurants and shopping, with easy access to transportation nearby. The owner is very friendly. Bring 100 yen coins for AC, which you need to sleep at night.

We booked to stay one night but ended up staying five! Wonderful guesthouse with a real homey feel. First we stayed in the Japanese room which was fantastic, with futons and great air conditioning. We stayed the regular twin room for the last two nights and it was also comfortable and clean. The owner is so friendly and makes you feel very welcome as soon as you arrive. Free coffee in the morning, use of microwave and fridge in the room. Also a huge bonus was using the washerdryer, can be different if you are traveling for 5 months with limited clothes! One of the best places I've stayed in during my travels to Asia, highly recommend!.
