We arrived shortly after 6 am, and the accommodating proprietor Jan showed us the apartment in his basement. It was roomy and tidy. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for your own supper, but we preferred to eat out. In Defender, there are numerous excellent restaurants. The apartment has a lovely, roomy bathroom with a shower. Fruit and a bottle of wine were provided complimentary. The only minor criticism is that for two men traveling together a second bedroom would be nice, most notably because the only bedroom featured a double bed instead of two single beds. The living room has more than enough room for a second bedroom conversion. Even now, a couch in the living room can be converted to an extra bed for an additional fee of 45 for two nights, so we chose that for a little extra privacy. The extra bed in the living room was reasonably priced for 230 dollars plus an additional 45 dollars. A hotel in the heart would have been more affordable, but the apartment has far more space than a hotel room. In general, the apartment was good value for the money.
