I enjoyed the decor, faded chintz, etc. A bit unusual, full of character, and the sweet hosts. All very clean and comfortable, our dogs were welcomed, and the breakfast was excellent. It was only used as a stopover, but I realized it could be a great spot for people exploring Basque country. The hotel is in the old part of town with an interesting wine bar nearby and a very friendly restaurant, but the only drawback was that we were not aware of the oneway system and the gate at the end of the road, which required help from our host. However, the locals were very helpful. Excellent value and strongly recommended.

I think this place has it for good. It's a beautiful place that is in a great location that is also friendly, comfortable, and has nice showers. At night the owner will open the door in his dressing gown. This place is quite recommended.

You can't go to the hotel by car. Park at the no parking area near the building and walk 100 meters to the hotel. The patron will remove the plaque and take you to the next street 100 meters to the hotel to the underground car park 6 euros per day. Breakfast is good. You are in the heart of the old town with many eateries. One, just outside the hotel, and another 20 meters up the street serves the menu del dia. If you are not a big fan of bean soup, I choke on it. The hotel is classic, clean, and comfortable.

We stayed in this charming family run hotel in the middle of Beggar for four nights. The hotel is in a period-old structure, so don't be shocked if not everything is as straight as it should be. The rooms are simple but clean. Guides and the owner can provide information on the region. Breakfast is a little above the Spanish standard. The plaza in front of the hotel is always full of people for the paso, so if you prefer peace and quiet, ask for a room across the street. Beggar is a good base for exploring the Basque country. Beautiful environment, 90 minutes from the Guggenheim in Bilbo, and an hour to the coast. Order tickets online before purchasing.

Old world charm in the old part of town. Large room with high ceilings and gorgeous eclectic furniture and wallpaper. But it worked somehow. The room also had large doors that opened to a small Juliette balcony. The bathroom was small, but unfortunately, the smallish bath had no plug, the bed was fine. I loved the old wooden floors, which were a bit on the slope. Being such an old building, it had lots of character and history because many people must have walked on these floors. Checking was quick and friendly. The hotelier went out of his way to walk with my husband to our car and then show him where to park for free in a nearby park. This hotel is located on a town square with cafes and so on, but the main entrance is from the road behind. When you arrive at the check desk, a beautiful, impressive wooden staircase welcomes you. Remember.. This is an old building, so things squeak a bit. There was also some noise from the people enjoying themselves at the cafes and the people in the next door rooms, but not noisyly. Old world charm and good friendly service.
