I stayed here during a three-day tour of the Scottish Highlands, with Inverness as my base. The hotel is very well located, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast normally starts at 8:00 am, but since my tour left at 7:30 am, the team was extremely kind and arranged an earlier breakfast for me. I really appreciated their flexibility and hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel.

Tout était parfait. Un accueil chaleureux et très attentionné, on a ressenti la volonté de satisfaire les clients. Un petit hôtel avec un fabuleux petit déjeuner. La chambre était très propre. L’hôtel est très bien situé dans une rue animée avec des pub avec des musiciens. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

The innkeeper has to be about the nicest gentleman in existence and bent over backwards to be helpful, including with the delicious breakfast. The facilities have a more "Scottish" feel than most places you'll find nearby; this is not a cookie-cutter hotel and I appreciated that. The bed was great. And since the core of Inverness is not huge, you're right in the middle of everything. Pretty much a can't miss.

When you first arrive at the MacDougall Clansman Hotel, you might notice that the property feels a bit dated. However, what it lacks in appearance it more than makes up for with incredibly kind and personal service. Iain was such a gracious host — always checking in to see if we needed anything and making sure we were well taken care of. His warmth and hospitality truly made our stay memorable. The location is excellent — very central, yet surprisingly quiet — and there’s even a superb bookshop right next door, which was a lovely bonus. Overall, this is a charming and comfortable place to stay in Inverness, thanks to the genuine care and hospitality of the people who run it.

Stayed at the MacDougal Clansman Hotel for 3 nights this summer on a girls trip for myself and my aunt in her 60's. This is the perfect family-run operation in my opinion. Iain was in communication with us to coordinate for our check-in (we arrived on an incredibly early train into Inverness, unfortunately), and he was very accommodating. Not only did he offer to keep our bags, but a room opened up and he let us switch into the free room without any fuss so we could freshen up earlier than we'd thought we'd be able to. We ended up staying on the 2nd floor corner room (3rd floor for the fellow Americans) and had a great view down the street so we could people watch on our early nights. Some tourists out in the area were louder than others, but it was wholly unrelated to this hotel - I'll absolutely stay here again if I find myself in Inverness again. Very safe and as comfortable as staying with your own family. Its a great location, you can walk anywhere you'll need to get in Inverness and won't have to call a cab. In fact, between the bus station (the ladies in the counter at the bus station were SUPER helpful as well - I highly recommend stopping by in person to coordinate your out-of-town travels) and the hop-on/hop-off bus, we were able to get all around town. We also took a day trip to Skye one of the days staying here and could walk to the pick-up spot easily! I can't emphasize the convenience of this location enough. Thank you Iain and team! We'll be back!
