My husband and i had a very pleasant stay. The room was very cold, but the staff provided extra blankets. Nice coffee service with toast, cereals and juices included. Much more affordable than the high priced hotels in the city. I will visit this hostel whenever in town.

Ive had the pleasure of staying at the Parthenon hostel several times, and i have been quite pleased. The location is excellent, the atmosphere is respectful and welcomes all guests, there are various room types available, including rooms with 4, 6, and 8 beds, as well as a wonderful staff. To start the day off, ive often enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast. Overall, good value for your money. I heartily suggest it on your next trip to chicago. You wont be disappointed. My stay here was truly enjoyable. It is conveniently located near the train station, restaurants, and attractions in close proximity. The hostel boasted all the standard expected amenities, as well as a pleasant lounge area and tv room. Overall, its incredibly affordable for the location. However, my only suggestion for improving the facilities is to enhance the availability of electrical outlets for each bunk. In these days, everyone loves to be able to charge their devices nearer the beds.

In an interesting area of town, the hostel is a short stroll from union station (amtrak, metra). There are numerous stores, cafes, parks, and coffee shops within walking distance. Walgreens are close by. The blue line and several buses are nearby. In ieg, samegen room, you get hygienic beds. There is free tea and espresso, bottled water, vending machines, common room with shared bathroom and common area. For nifty prices, guests can rent towels or store their bags. Although pleasant, staff members are occasionally busy.

My stay here was enjoyable. As a solo female traveler, i felt extremely secure. The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the amenities were excellent kitchen, coffee maker, etc. Great location, close to cta stops and small stores. It was exactly what ive needed for my fourday stay to explore the city.

This hostel is fantastic! Its in the ideal location and has been thoughtfully designed. I havent stayed in a hostel before, and i was impressed by the cozy, homey vibe. Joel was incredibly helpful and kind, as was his bears hat and Nirvana shirt.

The rooms are basic and worn but still clean. For the location, i think you get more than what you pay for. I booked this room on the wrong date and got a refund immediately even though it wasnt refundable by policy. You literally cant beat this in terms of good customer service.

The bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was basic but good. Although the room was a little warmer than we would have liked, it was still cooler than outside. We were right above halsted street, but most rooms do not face that way. Friendly staff but not overly so.

It was really helpful to have this hostel close to the station when i missed my train. There is good greece food and pizza from chinese restaurants nearby. Matthew and Joel were very accommodating and the lounge provided a reliable place to work. Good price and would definitely recommend it.

I had a wonderful time. In exchange for the dorm we had reserved, we were given solitary rooms. Much obliged! By the way, this hostel was clean, made us feel secure, and served savory breakfast! Wouldnt hesitate to return when in town. For the price, the location and proximity to downtown are ideal.

The location is very close to the city center. Most places are accessible by public transportation (metro). The bathrooms and kitchen area are very clean and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast is amazing! - Very quiet neighborhood. This is my second time staying here. I highly recommend this place to stay if you plan to visit the main attractions in chilio.

The rooms are simple but very clean. Shared bathrooms were very nice. Cleanest hostel ive ever stayed in. Breakfast is a good start to the day and the staff/management are very accommodating and helpful. The location is great, only walked to blue line. But the only downside was that the air conditioner couldnt keep up with the heat so it was quite warm but we were visiting during unseasonally hot weather.

I had never been to chicago before, so i was nervous about everything. This hostel was not only one of the cheapest options but also one among the best. It was immaculate. Sharing a bathroom with an entire floor was intimidating, but the housekeepers kept it spotless all day. I was both delighted and surprised. The front desk staff members were really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Your room key fob is required to unlock the locked front door, which is only accessible by the front entrance. Helped me feel very safe. There are only stairs, therefore it was difficult to go up and down at times, yet it wasnt worth it. Overall, ive had incredibly positive experiences. When ill return to downtown chicks, well stay here again.

It was a fantastic hostel. If you are sharing sex, having the restroom outside of the room is really convenient. The location is excellent because the blue line tram is very close by. You can also stay close to willis tower on foot in about 15-20 minutes. Although there arent many items available for cooking in the tiny kitchenette, you can count on fewer than ten with utensils like ice, fudge, and other necessities. Renting towels is advisable in terms of services, although it wasnt incredibly important when it werent an issue in other hostels, it could be rearranged for unforeseen changes.

I saw a lot of posts from people who said their stuff was stolen but i think its because they were in sytayed room. I stayed in private room and didnt worry about my things being taken at all. Also, you can check your bag with the office person. The staff was friendly and everything in the lounge and bathrooms was stocked. It was in an excellent location for many things.

This hostel is good for american standards, but not for european type hostels. The room is spacious and cleaned every day, has a ceiling fan, lockers for valuables, wifi, common area with comfortable seating, and is located right next to o'Hare airports subway station on the blue line. I stayed in an 8bed womens dorm room. On the downside, the rooms are boring and ineffective. There are no hooks to hang coats and jackets or individual lamps so everyone is blinded by the ceiling light when someone comes in at night, blinds were broken so the street lights kept the room lit all night long, internet doesnt reach the hotel (i was on second floor but had to go to the common room on first floor to have wifi), toilet stall locks were damaged and one of the two hand washing soap stations did not get refilled. Front desk staff from super helpful and knowledgeable (Matthew) to nice, to downright unhelpful.The locker is so small that there is only jugs of luggage, doors can wake up the dead and need oil. The location is excellent. Great location. I booked a double room. Checkin process was smooth. All guests have access to supper and sanitary areas in the common bathroom. Worth it for convenience. However, there is mr 9 muses dance bar directly across from this place that plays music from the window till 3 oclock on some days. It may be your day of stay. Sleep is impossible. Calls to 911 were useless (corruption in china? ), and the hostel owner hasnt been able to fix this. This could be an unfortunate day. Make sure you check this before making reserving.

This place has a good location, affordable price, great staff, nice rooms, and an inconvenient bathroom. There is no shelf or hook in the bathroom, so you have to put your clothes outside in sytaya common area. But they did provide utensils and shelves just outside. So be prepared to quickly get your clothing and go back to the restroom, get dressed in public areas, or bring waterproof bags to take your garments to this bathroom with you. The blanket is very thin, but its fine in summer. Overall, for those on fewer budget, this is ot suited for them. Aside from the toilet, there arent many things to complain about.
