Highland Dell lodge sits amongst the peaceful redwoods along the Russian River. The views are wonderful. This vintage hotel is well maintained and very clean and it is a very relaxing place from which to enjoy the river and surroundings. The restaurant is very nice specializing in German cuisine with tables inside or outside, overlooking the river. And the rafters in the dining room ceiling are a spectacular design.

This is a charming old-world experience in a well-maintained hotel set in the redwoods beside the Russian River. Rooms are smalll, but clean and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the river, which we enjoyed. The staff was helpful and friendly. The owner is obviously very proud of his establishment and dedicated to making it a good experience for his patrons. The breakfast is ample. The attached restaurant provides a German cuisine.

We were very charmed by Highland Dell Inn, which is run by a German family many years. It is set right in the redwoods right on the river and has a little dock to swim from. The room was very clean and bright with a nice balcony and a beautiful view of the river. The Inn is just a few minutes away from Guerneville, which has some nice restaurants. We also chose to eat at the Inn two nights which was very pleasant out on the big deck overlooking the river. Continental breakfast was European style with different breads, meat, cheese, boiled eggs, sweets, yogurt, and granola. This would be a great place to hold a family reunion or a small wedding. We will certainly be back with family and friends.

We loved staying here especially because they allowed our dog to stay in the room which was very clean considering they allow dogs in the rooms. The restaurant at the hotel was very good with German themed meals. The homemade apple strudel was incredible. We sat out on the patio overlooking the Russian River and had a nice quiet dinner. The Russian River area is very beautiful and romantic. The staff was very attentive and gracious with our dog. And the have a wonderful buffet breakfast. We hope to visit again and spend more time enjoying the Russian River.

Our stay was enchanting. We were generously upgraded to a River View room. Though small, the room was very clean, comfortable, relaxing and attractive. The views of the river, the beach and forested hills were breathtaking. Breakfast in the morning was upgraded continental and enjoyable. Staff was exceptional. The two nights at this beautiful lodge was pure joy!

Excellent room located above the river with sweeping views. Hot shower, modern TV, breakfast was included and was more than we expected. Large parking lot and friendly staff. Highland Dell Lodge was great!

From the moment we arrived til we left we were taken care of… It started with upgrading our room to twin Queen beds (no up charge) then helping us navigate activities and recommendations. We enjoyed both dinner with a view of the River and sunset and the complimentary breakfast with amazing fresh baked muffins, fresh bread, hard boiled eggs, etc Coffee was lovely, fresh and plentiful We had a delay with our pick up and were told no rush to check out. Truly a relaxing and enjoyable night on the Russian River and we wished we could stay for the week (Rooms are quaint, small but not cramped. Plenty of parking and the restaurant offers fresh German entrees and dessert)
