Our room did not have a working heater (it was summer but chilly), so the manager kindly upgraded us to a suite. I'd recently had the bad news that my cancer had relapsed, and his kindness, and the beautiful suite, really helped my mood. The atmosphere was welcoming and the employees outstanding. We ate several times at the attached restaurant/deli, Grossman's, and loved the food and the staff there.

Beautiful room at the carriage house. Very comfy for my granddaughter and I. Close to shopping, coffee and other restaurants. Convenient location and locked gate to property just adds security.

I have stayed at the La Rose three times. I love the historic and carriage house. The carriage house is newer and is my favorite but the historic is so charming. I love the location as well.

Hubby and I had a wonderful stay. We stayed in the main building & it was a beautiful room. It’s in a perfect location to walk to eat & shop downtown. We can’t wait to return.

Easy check-in. The staff was friendly and gave us all the necessary info. Very efficient! We really liked the location; nearly everything was within one block. The hotel feels historical, not the latest "in" hotel, but cozy and practical. We only used the elevator for our luggage; otherwise, we enjoyed taking the carpeted stairs to get to our fourth-floor room and get some needed steps in after all the wine tasting. Parking was very convenient, just 50 yards away in a big lot with ample space, even for our 15-seater van. It was $33 extra for two days, but totally worth it. The attached restaurant, Grossman's, was phenomenal for breakfast or lunch. The Reuben and the bread pudding were absolutely fabulous. If we come back, this hotel will be our first choice.

Although I prefer to stay in the main building, because the rooms remind me of my grandmother's house, I spent a week in a beautiful, spacious suite in the new addition. It is a light-filled space that is built around a flower-filled courtyard. Upstairs rooms have balconies and lower floor rooms have gated patios. Thisvisca gated venue, with access provided by your room key. Hotel La Rose is ideally located in Railroad Square in Santa Rosa. It is a short walk to the Smart Train platform. The ride is free for people over age 65! It is easy to head go as far north as Windsor or as far south as Larkspur, where ferry connections can be made to San Francisco. Railroad Square offers a choice of several good restaurants and a charming ice cream parlor with specialty ice cream flavors. There are some intriguing antique stores, a game store, a terrific yarn shop which holds a variety of classes, and a Junior League thrift store whose profits serve needy children in the area! One of my favorite events is the Tuesday night lighted bike parade which rolls through Railroad Square and can be a fun finish for Taco Tuesday at Chevy"s!

Note: Call hotel immediately after booking as you are not guaranteed the room selected on Expedia. Travel back in time. Lovely hotel. Room was cozy, comfortable bed, nicely decorated. Clean, well stocked with towels and ammenities. Centralized to dining and shopping area. Town closes early, stock up on snacks or drinks to be kept in room. Staff is sooo lovely. Friendly and accommodating. Especially Tanya. Sooo charming I will definitely stay again.

Great location for walking around the old district with restaurants and shops. Fun classy oldschool vibe in the furniture and decor. Grossman's restaurant is right next door and understandably busy due to good food. It can be a little noisy with the street traffic and train so bring your earplugs just in case.

This was the most amazing little hotel. Clean, quiet and comfortable! We honestly did not want to leave. We used this as our base for exploring wine country and it was just so delightful to come back and relax here at the end of the day. Tons of shops to explore and great food nearby was an added bonus!
