What else can you say about the cutest hotel in Madison!? As the desk clerk said, "It's a 19th century hotel." The staff is excellent, it's a perfect walking distance to anywhere you want to walk to...parking is easy and convenient...they provide breakfast every day, and during weekends it is at the restaurant next door! I've stayed here a few times, and will most assuredly be staying here again.

Our room, #16, is triangular. Unusual, but nicely furnished and cozy. We didn't hear any music from Essen Haus, but the hotel supplied earplugs, just in case. The breakfast at Come Back In was wonderful! Delicious eggs benedict and fried potatoes.

Enjoyed the charm of historic rooms. Having a complimentary drink at the adjacent bar was a good way to unwind prior to going to bed. The complimentary breakfast was some of the best food we had that weekend and being able to order off the menu was great and very accommodating. Hotel Ruby Marie was an excellent stay. Clean room. The complimentary breakfast at the Come Back In was so much better than the continental breakfast you typically get at hotels. The two free drinks at the Up North Pub were also a nice addition. The train and the traffic on the street can be loud, but not too bad, and earplugs are provided as a convenience. We didn't need them. The room didn't have a blow dryer, but staff at the front desk happily provided one for us. The closeness to everything in Madison and the charming decor of the hotel means we'll be staying there again.

Parking is one of my reasons for choosing the Ruby Marie. It could not be easier. My room was fine except for two things: the bathroom light starts to flicker after a few minutes. It’s an intense, strobe-like flicker that might cause issues with the epileptic. Also, the bathtub stopper did not fit properly, so taking a bath was out of the question. Sorry to whine, I mean, the shower worked great! Zero complaints about room cleanliness and staff. Thank you.

My room faced a very busy thoroughfare intersection. So it was quite noisy at times. The hotel must be aware because they provided earplugs free of charge!

This hotel was great, it’s centrally located and as a result, I was able to walk to pretty much all of the events I was in town for. It was a nice surprise to find out that I got 2 happy hour drinks for each night I stayed and a real breakfast at the restaurant next door. My only critique was I thought the elevator was iffy and my intuition was correct. I got trapped in the elevator on my last day there, but thankfully the staff were able to get me out. Would stay again, but I’ll take the stairs.

Their system was down, so we couldn’t check in initially. But they gave us drinks for the bar downstairs to kill time. Free breakfast was decent. Good location. Definitely best for younger guests as there’s quite a live music and bar scene.

Beautifully restored old building, comfortable spacious rooms. Friendly staff. We booked one night then stayed for three. Great location a short walk to lots of restaurants. Complimentary on-site parking. We would not hesitate to return.
