The stay was fine. It’s an tired old hotel in a rural area…but was clean and cheap. I’m good with that.

Henry at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and apologized for nothing as all is normal to the staff. But yes, everything is tired looking in terms of decorating and very outdated but it is all passable and when leaves are turning, nothing wrong at half the price and the only place below $400 that has rooms available. Their problem is it's virtue. Prospective guests need to rearrange their expectations. Yes, the whole place is an odd combination of huge impressive first floor common areas, and a big outdoor pool which is drained and an eyesore. (although the indoor pool in the basement is open 24/7). The reviews were so poor, I was expecting to walk in and tiptoe over the debris. But it is such an oddity, an 8 story behemoth in the middle of nowhere, you will be taking pictures and laughing with your family and friends at the next visit. You can tell them there is one elevator button for the left car for those on odd floors and the same button that goes to the even floors on the right car. It is a white elephant, a non-sequitur, an anachronism where they think it is perfectly normal to make a broken down hotel into what they may think is an over the top AirBnB. Go in with the right attitude and It should be on everyone's list who wants a cheap life-long memory that will bring a smile to your face even when you are happily leaving.

It was not as grimey or disgusting as I expected it to be. Bed was very comfy. Great location right between the Shawangunks and thr Catskills. Does look abandoned on the outside. Probably the oddest hotel I have been to. This place has a lot of potential, just needs some sprucing up.

Reading some reviews, we were hesitant to book. Property is large and old. Lobby is huge. We checked in 10:30pm and was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. There was a party going on in banquet hall, so it was quiet lively, festive. Lobby is huge, with big chandeliers. Room was clean, rug was older but clean. Desk was wobbly but we did not need to use it. We only stayed one night, but it met our need. We attended Meadowlark festival in Stone Ridge, Easy to find at night. Had clean comfortable bed and working shower. .Keurig in room, but did not see coffee or cups. Had refrigerator. No restaurant on site, not a problem , went to Saunderkill Farm for breakfast on Route 209. I would stay here again.

We found it unique and close to most of the activities we were interested in. The breakfast was nice and the seating outside was very accommodating with a nice view. We did use the hiking trail in the property and our dog enjoyed the trail as well. The room we had was next to the entrance so it was slightly noisy, but we had the air on in the evening so it wasn’t an issue. The not so great part was the check in because the person that checked us in was extremely rude. We also had no Netflix and after calling the same person at reception , we were told the property was in some type of transition and Netflix and other TV capabilities were not available. My daughter was also told that SOME people fin it hard to operate a remote control. We were also told at. Our 5 pm checkin our 9 lb dog was an additional 75.00 ( And if we didn’t like it , we could leave) . being a service dog we were surprised and did not see mention of that on the property website other than the hotel was dog friendly. We did basically enjoy the one night stay , the owner was hospitable and made up for the nasty woman that checked us in . The person on evening shift at the desk was nice as well. It’s hard getting past the initial condescending attitude especially since the check in process sets the tone first thing however we wouldn’t allow an obviously troubled person to ruin our stay. Enjoy the natural beauty.

This was modest place to stay. My room was large and clean. It looked out on the most beautiful tree filled with golden yellow and orange leaves. The space has seen better days, but the price was right and they allowed pets.

Pro Decent price. Beautiful views. Quite. Staff was very nice. Great water pressure. Cons It is what you expect for 3 stars. It’s like a motel room with a view. The outside of the property is in disrepair. The inside of the property is antiquated and needs updating. No food on site. Could not find a vending machine. This hotel is geared for Jewish families. Only 2 channels work on the TV.

Not worth the price, in my opinion. This was my first stay here, so I can’t speak to any changes or improvements. The hotel is old and the rooms are in OK-to-poor shape. It’s evident that some renovations have been done, but they don’t really eliminate the “way past its prime” vibe of the hotel.

Hotel is tired and obviously has not been renovated in decades. Staff is very friendly and tries to be helpful, given the limitations with which they have to work.

This place was probably very nice at one time but is very run down now. The elevators hardly worked and I didn’t sleep the entire first night I was there because I could physically hear the elevators running all night. My room was big but there were stains all over the carpet and the furniture. I leaned on the desk in my room and it almost fell apart because it was so wobbly. Kids and families constantly just hanging out and sitting in the lobby even at late hours in the night. This is more like a motel than a “resort and spa”. Great surrounding views but not worth it in my opinion.
