This is a unique, stylish, and very clean boutique hotel. Despite being close to the traffic, the staff is fantastic. They make you feel at home. This is my new favourite place to stay when in New York.

On the upper west side, The Wallace is a stunning, well-appointed hotel. It was a perfect location for our daughters wedding because it was only blocks from the venue. All the wedding guests who stayed there really liked the hotel, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

This newcomer easily ranks among the most satisfying Ive ever experienced of the 50 or so hotels Ive been to over the years, from the extremely friendly reception desk to the cool room furnishings and the quite friendly tea kettle. I made this a base no matter what my plans were in the city despite I was looking for a place that was close to the Lincoln Center when I chose the Wallace. Im suspicious of any ensuing evaluation, so Ill add one curious corridor noise that flows into the room to a disturbing degree. However, Ive encountered this in a number of dissatisfied hotel. In addition, roomtoroom noise, even in the bathroom, was an added bonus, which is more important to me.

When we had to leave early due to health issues, the employees were very nice and accommodating. We were staying at The Wallace for the weekend of a family wedding. The room wasn't huge, but it was adequate, clean, and quiet. However, there is no restaurant or bar, but the staff provided two pages of suggested restaurants all within a short distance.

We will return without a doubt. We used to always stay at the Excelsior, but after it was closed, we had to locate a new landing spot. The wallace seems to be still being beta tested, so if you require a glitzy ground floor with a thriving social scene, this is not the place to stay. It could have coffee or complimentary wine at 5 levels, but obviously filling it's vast lobby during the day isn't a priority. Our room was really large, with lots of windows I views! That opened and brought in fresh, clean air with the slight exception that there was no full-length mirror or magnifying mirrortwo essentials for a woman of a certain age to emerge through the door looking her best. The mirror over the sink in the bathroom was not wellsuited for makeup application or checking colors, and it was too small. It was also hard to convince my husband that his bright blue running shoes matched everything he was wearing.
