This was my first stay in a motel and I had the best time. The room was nice and stocked with towels, fridge and classic shampoo conditioner and body wash. The pool was great and wasn’t dirty. They have entertainment every night other than Sunday which was amazing for me as a solo traveller to be able to go and feel safe whilst having a drink. The staff were very helpful as it is all digital check in and as I had a UK number I didn’t receive any texts but the owners were there and helped me check in smoothly! Free parking and plenty of spaces

Great fun. From the Pool, Poolhouse bar, on-site coffee shop, ping pong, karaoke night… we had an absolute blast. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, comfy beds. Will definitely be back!

If you’re skeptical don’t be. Also don’t let the drive in make you uncomfortable. Remember it is Charleston. This small boutique motor inn was perfect for our stay. We felt very safe. The check in process made me feel a little weird at first, but I’m skeptical about doing anything over the phone or email in today’s time. Anyways, It was close to down town. The drive into the city was straight forward, what seemed to be, an Industrial back road. No traffic. On arrival you literally pull straight up to your door. The room was perfect. It was very clean and well maintained. From the throw back decor to the floor everything was very nice and clean, the vibe was perfect. My wife and I joked and said we could have just laid in the comfortable bed all day and ignored our obligations. We will be back in 6 months for our next appointment at MUSC. Thanks starlight for making our stressful day a little bit more peaceful.

I would put "grab bars" in the showers. We stayed in a room that had none. I know the floor of the shower was "slip resistant", but that won't help if you step wrong with nothing to hold onto. That is the only complaint I had. Megan at the front desk was so very helpful...making sure we were settled comfortably after we requested to be moved to the first floor. Remembering names is a big thing for me and she gets lots of points for that! Christmas ran the bar with smiles and personality! I do wish there were more restaurants closer...the roads and traffic surrounding were terrible. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything from check-in to check out can be done remotely and still the office staff was super helpful for our late night arrival. The room was clean, bed was nice. Had no cups for coffee or water and no Kleenex in the room. Went out and bought some.

This is an older motel but dont let that fool you. Outside is classic 60's i think. Our room was really nice. There was a refrigerator and a coffee maker. A microwave would have been great. I would stay here again.

I loved the old school vibe with the urban style incorporated into it. I think they did well captivating the original 1960’s feeling while also being very up to date. The vibe quite honestly reminded me of the old TV show, the Jetsons(unfortunately there are no flying cars). On top of the wonderful service and nice clean vibe, they were also one of the best options in the area in terms of cost. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely be staying here again when I find myself in the area.

We LOVED our stay! The property is gorgeous and very kitsch 💕 Our room was clean. The pool is the perfect backdrop for pictures if splashing isn’t your thing. (Isn’t mine haha). Breakfast was AMAZING. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the bar— Oatman-Smith-Nicholsons will be back!

The staff was amazing with the owner on site and there to accommodate. The Retro vibe was like walking back in time with all the modern comforts expected from today’s lifestyle. There to attend the High Water Music Festival and Ham, the owner provided shuttles to and from. The Starlight checked off all the boxes for our stay in N. Charleston. We couldn’t be more pleased. Will be back!!
