A fantastic historical residence in the heart of Salem. Everything is accessible here, so you don't need to drive! Matt and his family are incredibly kind and an excellent resource for information on attractions, restaurants, excursions, etc. People on the sidewalk look at you with envy as you enter and exit Salem's dream home with envy! The inn has two cats, and Blake is another plus! Our small San Francisco room was great for exploring the neighborhood for three nights over the Columbus weekend. We received everything we needed. The only drawback I would mention is that due to a very old historical home, the steps are narrow, steep, the handrail is low, and the bathroom is small. If you are older or have mobility issues, this may not be for you. Otherwise, this is the spot to call home while exploring Salem.

We will definitely recommend it! A friend and I stayed in Salem on a girls trip and I'm so glad we did! The inn is adorable and has lots of unique features and furnishings. Matt gave us a brief overview of the house when we checked in as well as pointed out some original period features of the home. We stayed in the washington do room and enjoyed it. The room was comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was small but perfect. No conditioner in the shower, but there were small makeup remover wipes in the small sink in the room, which I thought was a nice touch. Due to the ongoing crisis, there was no breakfast, but we got vouchers to a local cafe and it was delicious. Matt and Kelly also sent a very comprehensive email with great recommendations for local todos, which was very thoughtful and helpful. Overall, this was a nice stay in a very convenient location. My friend and I also love cats, so when we returned from our morning breakfast or afternoon touring, we enjoyed the friendly resident kitties.

I'm not a fan of this place, but I chose the Steps Inn because of its location. I had a great experience! Matt and Kelly were very helpful! Stayed in a clean, comfortable room. There are pillows that are comfortable. Very steep stairs in the bathroom, but adequate.

When visiting Salem, the stepping stone inn is the ideal place to remain. Nothing is more than a 15-minute stroll from the location, which is right in the center of everything! During the busy summer months, the proprietor, Matthew, was really helpful in locating and establishing a reservation. He and his wife, Kelly, were incredibly welcoming and welcoming. The washington do room, which had a private bathroom, was where we stayed. Everything we required was in the precise size and in the room. The bed and cushions were cozy, and everything was spotless. Although it was not available for breakfast, we were able to purchase a coupon at a local cafe. The food was superb, and it was only a short distance away. Although parking wasn't available because we checked in early, we were granted a ticket to the nearby parking lot, which worked out great. I cannot express how wonderful this establishment and its proprietors are! We were so content and intend to return soon!.

I just returned from a one-night visit here. The hosts were helpful and eager to share the area, and the fresh coffee every morning was excellent. The cats were also pleasant. The Boston room was where I remained. It had a cozy bathroom and was modest but cute. It offered everything I needed, including a hot shower, internet while I'm on a vacation, and a comfortable bed. Despite being so near to everything, it was tranquil and peaceful, and I slept soundly. There were plenty of shower gel, shampoo, and body wash in the bathroom. There was also tea and coffee in the mini-fridge downstairs. Despite not offering breakfast, a voucher to a nearby cafe was offered. There was more food there than I could just needed for me, so I frequently had leftovers for lunch.
