The hotel is small, cozy, beautiful, clean, many plants around, close to everything, and very friendly staff. Also, in the breakfast area there are always drinks and some free snacks. Also, at dusk they offered all the guests some delicious sweet cakes, a nice detail!

First off, this property is newly remodled and it's gorgeous. Jodi was the person who checked us in and she even walked us to our room and showed us the amenities offered and the lounges we could get into. Its not a big place, but it was still nice to be shown. They leave freshly baked (in house) pastries too for each room. They were delicious! The rooms are VERY clean and decorated super cute. The only downside to the entire thing is the shower/toilet area is very small, but was manageable.

The Retreat at Crystal River is extraordinary! It is an unusually beautiful place with gorgeous landscaping, huge live oak trees, many pots of flowers, and spotlessly clean on the outside and inside facilities. The rooms are lovely, with unusual steel sinks in the bedroom area and fabulous bathrooms including high tech showers with six different water options. The breakfast included yogurt, different cereals, and breads but there was a coffee machine which made individual cups of coffee - quite good. The staff was very accommodating and provided extra amenities such as shampoo and even provided beach towels! The rooms were cleaned each morning while we were out and excellent French pastries were provided in the late afternoon to chairs outside the rooms. Three of the rooms had individual small patios which I did not stay in but were lovely. There were several outdoor tables and inside tables provided to enjoy the breakfast provisions. A large room with seating and microwave was an additional feature that could be enjoyed. The location is absolutely ideal, near a beach and a dock area, right down the street from restaurants and a business to sign up to swim or see the manatees, and a terrific restaurant, the Crab Plant. I am definitely returning here with family and or friends. The owner, Joel, is a talented artist and carpenter who was fascinating and friendly as was his daughter.

Clean, stylish, updated, and conveniently located close to nearby attractions and restaurants. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. Room was comfortable. Nice touches include stylish rooms, coffee and tea available around the clock, safe storage for bikes/kayaks/SUPs, delicious complimentary pastries baked on site every evening. Would stay here again. Do note that check-in may not be available late at night so check with property if arriving after 9 pm.

This hotel is a terrific hidden gem. We are normally name brand, nice hotels with all the amenities which come with them. We wanted a place near our booked activities... Sunset cruise, swim with manatees, etc. It was great. Despite the old school keyed entry (yes a key!) the decor was modern and the service offered nice little touches - like fresh pastries delivered before bed time. The AC system in our room was a little challenging, but not a big issue. Can walk to some restaurants and a charming little shopping area.

We got an individualized tour of the property by the owner. It was set up well, beautiful grounds and our room was awesome! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the public spaces for snacks and coffee were nice as well.
