The historic architecture of the hotel is on display at every turn. The restoration work is beautiful, and they way they maintained elements of the old while modernizing the structure makes it an experience to visit. The rooms are very comfortable, with incredibly high ceilings and all updated amenities. The wide corridors, old carved staircase, are offset by modern conveniences. The parking lot was small but we arrived late in the evening and still found parking close to the entrance.

The hotel has a unique history with an updated touch. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lounge/bar was nice to hang out, we had a Caesar salad and a pizza were delicious. Would stay there again!

If you love art, especially art of the past decade, you will love this hotel. The art is EVERYWHERE. It made us smile and smile. The hotel is well designed, has a very good restaurant and a well-located, lively bar, and is a 15-minute walk from the art museum/waterfront and three minutes from the riverwalk. Not a lot of restaurants close by, but we did find one very good restaurant a 12-minute walk away and the hotel's own restaurant is very good.

This hotel is so lovely! The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was roomy too. I love the hallway seating areas. The south side has a nice view of the park. It was quiet and comfortable. The bar was really nice too!

I had a wonderful stay at The Richardson! My room was modern and lovely. The hotel is brimming with character, history, and beauty. The location is convenient. There is free and ample parking. There is a small museum on the lower level, a restaurant bar, and gym. The staff was attentive and pleasant. We will definitely be staying at the Richardson again.

A former psychiatric hospital turned into an amazing hotel right on the campus of Buffalo State College. A surprising hidden gem. The hallways are tall and wide, and the rooms have high ceilings and are updated and comfortable. A very enjoyable stay.

The Richardson is a magnificent and masterful architectural experience. Vast and captivating to the historically minded. We really enjoyed our stay. We were introduced to the architecture of Buffalo which houses structures that rival those we visited in Europe. Highly recommend for those with the interest.
