The staff was very helpful. More ice machines would be nice.

The Shelby is an adorable, newly renovated hotel that I will definitely return to! The rooms are so comfortable and clean, even the hallways were spotless! Parking is limited, but that wouldn’t keep me from recommending this property.

Room was great and when I needed something the cleaning people were helpful. Loved the view of the ocean and its proximity to it. Wish the phone in the room worked & never was fixed. All in all we would stay there again.

The only complaint is the elevator. Only door closures stop is a photo eye, which can cause someone injuries.

The customer service staff at the Shelby have been incredible and super helpful. We ran into a few problems and they very graciously helped as much as they could. A very sincere thank you to Sharon and Rachel

I love that the rooms were very clean and how close the hotel was to the beach.

Located right on the beach, room was uncluttered by needless extra furnishings, quiet and clean. Can't ask for much more than that!

Only a couple complaints. First was the inconsiderate people shooting off fireworks late at night when people r trying to sleep and this upsets peta and wildlife as well and pollution in the ocean. Next the growling large dogs as you walk by on the property made it uncomfortable and very unsafe for humans and other pets visiting. Everything else was fabulous

The cleanliness of the room was superior. As was the entire hotel. The staff was very friendly & outgoing up until we came in contact with the cleaning crew during check out.

Clean room, great staff, the view wasn’t exactly as I was expecting (I thought it would ocean view, you could see the ocean from the room but was iffy leaning over a balcony sideways to look at it, the railing was wiggly), no microwave in room so plan accordingly, but over all it was a great experience! The beds are super comfy! Only thing I didn’t like was the way parking was set up, it was a long carry to and from vehicles.

The Shelby is a great hotel. Be advised this is not a 5 star hotel! This small, boutique style hotel has great vibes and friendly staff. The overall hotel still could use some upgrading, but i will definitely be back!

Nicely located near the pier with friendly staff, cute rooms and a nice pool. Located on the beach with easy access. Restaurant on property that we didn't end up using with lots of places to walk to. We didn't need to move our car once during the weekend as we walked to all of our restaurants. Highly recommend Strong Waters for amazing drinks and yummy bites (diagonally across the street)

This was our first stay at this hotel, and we absolutely loved it! Our room was beautiful, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and feels fresh, modern, and very comfortable. It is definitely one of the best hotels in Myrtle Beach. We would also like to thank the gentleman at the front desk. He was incredibly polite, welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We truly appreciate his kindness and excellent customer service. We will definitely be back!
