We stayed for a week in mid-December, This was perfect for for us and the managers were really helpful and friendly. We had everything we needed, plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. A few more kitchen utensils would have been handy , but this was such good value that's just a minor consideration. The location was excellent for us.

I stayed in Apt 83, room 2. This was by far the best room I've stayed in at Macquarie Uni Village. Great sunny room with a nice view of the courtyard. However, be prepared for a trudge back to the dorms after a day in the city. Train from Wynyard is about 34 minutes long followed by a 20 minute walk up to your room. But it's worth it for the price and comfort. This was my 3rd stay here, and will stay again. Clean but austere...no tv. Need to get a heater from the front desk as there is no heat in the room.

I simply wanted some cheap and convenient accommodation so I could get away from home and watch 18 hours of live stream video from the USA, over a two day period. My main priority was excellent internet connection, that I could not be assured of if I stayed at a budget hotel. Even the bandwidth in 5 star hotels may not have been sufficient. The house I stayed in had five bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, and a communal kirchen, lounge and dining area. Other guests were polite, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. (I stayed during the summer break, so the house was not fully occupied.)

These are cleaner rooms than many 4 star hotels i have stayed in as they know about bleach. Albeit dated interiors , single bed and noise levels depend on your neighbours at the time. The downstairs levels have a fully equipped kitchen/full sized fridge, lounge with tv and seperate dining area for 6 and free secure parking is nearby. As the facility including the uni has security the 20 minute walk to Macquarie uni station / macquarie centre shopping through the uni any time day or night is a pleasant and safe one. There is a small grocery store, liquor store, 2 restaurants and a wine bar directly opposite the reception at the Traflagar st entrance in Trafalgar place. I have no complaints about this facility or the staff as it all runs just fine. These units are only available at discounted rates to non students mostly during the uni recess over the christmas holiday period ( i believe) and are ideal for singles or even a family reunion of singles where you could book a whole block and have a room each and all use the common areas downstairs and self cater. There is no air conditioning so if it's a hot summer some may suffer.

The Uni Village is very spread out. From Culloden Rd you go down a hill, across a creek, and to the other side. Then I had to backtrack to my room.

Clean and comfortable room, which was quite ok for one night. Had to vacuum carpeted common area on arrival - Asian guys in other rooms presumably waiting for servants to come and clean up. Friendly and helpful reception staff, allowed early check-in. Reasonably happy at NZ$71 through this site - wouldn't have been happy if paid Aus$90-95 wanted on other sites.

House was not clean upon arrival and lacked some basic kitchen utensils but was rectified quickly by lovely staff. Excellent location with trees, beautiful parks, swimming pool and plenty of space. Kids loved the Rec room. Easy access to city. Kitchen was great to cook 3 meals a day and full fridge/freezer great. Needed to bring own chopping knives,an extra saucepan, frypan, and salad bowl. Perfect for our family for an 8 day stay.

The room was clean but there were no tea and coffee making facitities nor utensils sand no instructions as to how to find your way to the reception office, I had to walk around the accommodation and ask people to show me. Otherwise the room was quite comfortable, though there was only one blanket.

The hotel is quite spartan, but it is exactly what you are paying for. It met my needs perfectly, as all I was after was a place to crash. Location was great)as it was a couple of minutes walk from a good shopping centre with a great food court. One of those places that you don't pay for all those facilities you never use.
