Hotel was great. Manager worked hard to make sure everything was good for us. It was a nice treat to have a kitchen in the room. The hotel also washed my car as a special surprise for the morning. One of the best hotels in my travels across Africa (7 countries). Breakfast was great.

We are a group of seven friends who have traveled independently through Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zamboni for several weeks without incident before we arrived here. We had an email to confirm our reservation of 5 rooms for 3 nights last September. When we arrived around 4.30 a.m., we were informed that they were expecting us, but the front desk employees were hiding real. They were basically double booked, and all the other guests had arrived, which they were well aware of. The manager appeared to be on a day trip, and the owner was on leave, which was, if true, very convenient for both. When the girls at reception appeared to be unable to assist us in finding alternative lodging, we decided to say okay, okay, find another place, but come back tomorrow for the reserved rooms for the remaining two nights. No, were also full then, as we were informed, even though the whiteboard in reception claimed 8 rooms were empty. Clearly, one group was easier for them to go upsetting than more individuals arrived the following day. This may not have been their fault, but what was completely shocking was the ownermanager's renunciation of responsibility, which presumably is their usual method of dealing with something since they hadn't even received the courtesy of any contact from the owner since to apologize for the mess. We arrived at the media hotel across the street where they found us 3 riverside

Rivernest is located on a major highway north of Manmaroon to the locals. This implies that if you're traveling to locations south, you'll need to pass downtown man. From the airport, it is close to the main road. Hence, air travel is convenient. It is also convenient for driving north to Okavango, more, and captive. There isn't a river adjacent to rivernest. Just a dry arroyo that most likely flows during the rainy season. Parking is secure in a gated parking lot. Accommodation is provided in comfortable suites in detached buildings housing duplex suites. In rooms, there is a living room with a kitchenette, a bar table, and a refrigerator. The basic but functional furniture in suites. It was spotless and immaculate bathroom. We asked for it. The countryside is narrow and landscaped. Very near to the city. Despite being near the highway, traffic noise is barely audible. Buffet bar for breakfast was nutritious and pleasing. There is a little pool next to a raised deck that appears to be suited for gatherings. Manager Viola was knowledgeable and highly helpful. She can be a fantastic resource for traveling to Okavango and other destinations. Also attentive and helpful the staff was. In conclusion, it was excellent value for us. We believe you won'

We stay here for two nights. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but there were many mosquitoes that disturbed our sleep. The swimming pool is small, and the breakfast is good and the staff is also friendly. There is air conditioning, a kitchenette, and a freezer in the room.

We stayed here for one night before our flight out. The front desk staff was helpful. Rooms were clean but basic. Each suite had 2 rooms with beds, bathroom and separate sitting area kitchen. We sat on the deck overlooking the dry river bed. We had dinner and breakfast here too. Food was good and service was pretty fast. We wanted to go birding one morning before our midday flight. The manager at the desk agreed to take us for a walk along the river. It didn't seem like much but after 10 days on safari we got 15 new birds in 3 hours. Pretty amazing. The manager had no idea about the name of the birds, but she pointed it all out. She even found a hammerkop nest and a giant owl in town! He had a good time with us and didn't charge us for the walk. Great service!.

very spacious suites. fairly comfortable beds. minimal bugs, and clean. A good place to stay if you are visiting Maun & the Okavango Delta. It was nice to be able to spread out. Breakfast was fair. But there are decent places to eat around here.

Used this as a one night stopover. The room had a full size fridge and all kitchen appliances, however the dishes and pans were not quite enough. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We arrived at the Rivernest Boutique Cottages, and were told that they had been overbooked (though we had booked online several months prior) and that we were to be moved. We were sent to a different hotel a few minutes drive away, and given a room. The hotel we were re-booked at was cheaper than Rivernest, and we did not receive a credit or a refund of any kind. We had heard good things about this place, but unfortunately got to experience none of them. Good luck!

The comments and photos on the website portrayed a significantly better facility than what I found. The 'bones' of the place are pretty good (units look okay from outside, they circle around a pond, there are plants), but it needs a fair amount of upkeep: care and attention required. Front door wouldn't lock securely, furniture tired, would not be hard to get over perimeter of compound, and as it was quite a ways out of Maun (on a main highway--not sure what 'river' we were supposed to be beside...) with no other guests, it felt somewhat insecure...
