Rooms and grounds are beautiful! Just breathtaking! Luis was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with made to order eggs and fresh fruit and juice. In the evening, homemade banana bread was delicious! Would definitely stay here again!

Great spot for quiet stay in the mountains. Great comfort and amazing breakfast. Ducks and fishes to feed for the kids and close enough to town for activities and restaurants.

This is place to be in if you are a nature lover. This place is so serene and peaceful. The staff especially, Emel and Carlos took care of us so dearly. We felt as if we are home and they really took care of whatever we need. However, you need all wheel drive to get to Monteverde and also to this Hotel. That was the only hiccup we had. Once we reached there, it was very fabulous experiece.

The property is on the outskirts of Monteverde area. There are no restaurants close by. You can order out. The location is great for being in nature and very relaxing. There is a great hike right on the property where you can see the Arenal volcano. Our kids loved playing around the lake. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.

Burbi Lake Lodge is a very special place, starting with its location - with its lush surroundings including a sweet nature trail down to a pond with ducks and fish it was the perfect place for us and our kids to enjoy while exploring surrounding Monteverde. The El Tigre waterfall tour is just a few minutes drive away and the staff at the hotel is friendly and extremely helpful. If we ever come back to the area we hope to stay here again!

Burbi Lake Lodge is a great place to relax an enjoy the cloud rainforest. The town is about 15 minutes away, but because of the mountains, the whole town is spread across windy roads. The rooms in this property are spacious with a beautiful view. Breakfast is delicious and everyone is very nice and hospitable. Definitely recommend!!

Loved this place! It is newer than most places we stayed at during our travels in CR. We stayed in a room that is in one of the two outbuildings. The rooms are large with a nice sitting area. Window covers the entire wall with views over the lake/pond and the green mountains/rainforests. The view is spectacular! There is no TV in the room but that is a non-issue for me. My only recommendation for the room would be to have a mini-refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was the best we had during our two weeks in CR. The dining area is super nice with lots of tables and great views. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The biggest drawback about this place is that it is about 15-20 minutes from the nearest town - Santa Elena - on dirt roads. Other than that, the place is excellent!

Decent stay in wilderness It was a decent stay in middle of nowhere in a cloud forest. It’s 20 minutes away from town on a gravel road. We had a sedan but SUV would have been better as you never know when it will rain and will get muddy. There is no food around or restaurant on site so you have to order on an app, you have to pay cash upon delivery. They usually charge a bit more as it’s out of town than usual delivery charge. You have to order before 8pm. My recommendation would to be to definitely book if you want to be away for few days but if you want a little bit of everything, book in town. Very very friendly, helpful front desk and breakfast was good too. They have banana bread at all times. Clean rooms but sink basin does not have hot/warm water. Otherwise very peaceful to wake up to sounds of birds

The grounds of the hotel were lovely and the units were new and nicely kept. The rooms are fairly basic but well appointed. We enjoyed the breakfast options and Emel at the front desk was exceptional.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I had a 3 year old and an 8 month old travelling with us and required additional items due to it being super cold and raining. The manager is non responsive after numerous follow ups including bot emails and phone calls. Book somewhere else! Feeding the ducks and fish is a nightmare, there are no steps down, it’s super slippery, the ducks snip at your feet as they know your coming to feed them and won’t leave you alone. I ended up taking a huge fall due to the steep hill and all the ducks trying to nip at my three year old. Not recommended!

We booked using reviews on hotels.com as a bit of a guide and I definitely wouldn’t rate a 9/10. I’d give it a 6/10. Staff was friendly, banana bread was delicious, and the view was beautiful. Upon our arrival, there was a hair wad in the toilet, sheets felt like paper, beds were uncomfortable, and there was no heat/ac or even a fan in the rooms. Road to the property was terrible, but we knew that ahead of time. Just a meh stay.

I will give 10/10 to the cloud forest experience at Burbi Lake Lodge but other aspects around property were fairly average or below average. 1. As soon as we checked-in, i was asked to pay an additional $50 x 3 nights for my 15 year old son. Even though I had mentioned this during the reservation process with Expedia. Apparently the property owner has this discretion since accommodation is based on 2 adults. This is fine print info which expedia and the property owner will not disclose or cover in the rate displayed on the website. So just beware for last minute surprise. 2. The property is basic with no TV or coffee machine in the room. Even the quality of rooms are not plush enough to charge almost $300 per night 3. If you like to walk and hike in the neighboring country roads, again beware of stray dogs. They literally come from no where so just be watchful of small kids who may like to play around the property. 4. The roads immediately outside the property were terrible up to 10-15 miles in either direction. Navigating a foot deep potholes could slow you down to 5 miles in 30-40 mins. Therefore the downtown Monteverde will not be as close as it seems. 5. The property has a common area which serves breakfast and coffee ONLY. There is no functional restaurant here. please please do brush up your spanish because the staff does not speak any english at all (expect for the guy who is at the reception). In short better to stay in Monteverde closer to downtown!!

Lamentablemente sufrimos un robo de dinero durante nuestra estancia y el personal del hotel no fue para apoyarnos, tuvimos que llamar a la policía y hacer todo el tramite por nuestra cuenta y al final no nos regresaron el dinero, ni nos dieron una solución.
