The room was nicely set up and exactly what we needed. Although small by some standards, it perfectly suited our needs. The restaurant downstairs is great and the ocean view was an added bonus! The only complaint is that the bathroom is quite small which is also expected.

Our review of Englendingavik homestay was excellent. The homestay's renovating process was taking place while the owners were on holiday. There are two room segments in the four-person room. In the second room, there isn't ventilation through windows. The owners should have constructed additional toilets and showers because they were on vacation. The extra showers were quite functional but could not be closed, so they should also make changes.

I'm not sure if I liked the downstairs restaurant or the rooms more. Borgarnes is a little sleepy town, and this small place is just on a tiny bay with a lot of tide. The low tide gives the entire establishment a mystical outlook, and the high tide gives you the impression that you are in a peaceful bay with birds singing and ducks enjoying a rarely calm ocean. Dinar, the host and proprietor is incredibly resourceful. If you enjoy being a little adventurous in the surrounding area and enjoying a delicious breakfast at the neighborhood bakery, be sure to follow his advice. It's been an amazing experience taking in the midnight sun just outside our rooms. Everything has been renovated, and the rooms, if not very large and spacious, have a great view of the bay, and are extremely clean. Water is heated, and I'm sure it comes from the nearby hot spring. The restaurants downstairs are absolutely fantastic. We tried to eat somewhere else, but we returned every day because they always have something different on the menu. My entire trip to iceland has been lovely, but it's also because of places like this that I'll always remember my trip with nostalgia and happiness.
