Excellent stay at the coziest little town in Japan. I fully recommend going for the half board option and taking the most out of the fantastic dinner option.

This ryokan offered superior hospitality. The proprietors/staff were friendly and very welcoming to me. The facilities are what I expected for the price range but the hospitality and the dinner far exceeded my expectations. I will come back again one day!

I arrived in Dorugawa in the rain just as the tourist office was closed. We were half expecting expensive lodging at a run-down establishment, but we were surprised to be greeted warmly by this family run establishment. We were given a 12 tatami room for two with an en suite bathroom and fully automated toilet. Our English speaking host was really helpful and gave us local knowledge and transportation to the trailhead for a walk to Ominesan. Our communal japanese bath with a river view was pleasantly clean, and fresh towels were provided every day. The Japanese breakfast was savory and the coffee at the end will aid you on your hikes. Overall, the highlight of the trip.

As a threegenerations long party, we spent two nights in a very comfortable and professional environment. Comparatively to posher romans, the fact that the structure wasnt opulent and perfect made it more authentic and relaxed, which made it a more pleasant experience. And the cuisine outperforms more expensive establishments, the dinners were excellent, and some dishes were unforgettable. The commencement of water is wellknown and excellently tasty, which is at this moment a testament to the flavor of the cuisine, but the very friendly cook, the mother, must be the genius behind the performance. The tall, aging man gave his time in a tremendously friendly and helpful man, though some Japanese knowledge would probably be necessary to fully appreciate his tour of the town. He was excellent at guiding us to key areas in the Tenkawa region.

ATSUHIKO • Solo Trip

まず従業員の皆様がフレンドリー。といってグイグイではなく、質問やお願いをすると嬉しそうに応えてくれます。トイレはウォシュレットで快適でした。料理も地場産品を使い、工夫があって美味しく、量も満足。ロビーの暖炉や、布団を温めてくださった豆炭も印象に残ります。唯一、和室なためか隣室家族の活気ある会話で就寝が遅れてしまった位。洞川温泉街の中程で個性あるカフェや、河鹿の滝も堪能できました。また行きたいです。

食事最中に空き皿を下げるのが早すぎて、嫌でした！旅館だから仕方がないが部屋もテーブルと椅子にしてほしい！浴室が滑り易くて怖かった！部屋の冷蔵庫は缶ビール、缶チューハイがあれば良かった！普段はベッドで寝ている為、畳に布団は体が痛かった！食事のおしぼりがアロマおしぼりだったが　食事の前なので　香りはいらないと思う！
