Séjour incroyable. Le personnel est très investi dans le service que l'établissement propose. Le onsen privatisé est vraiment agréable mais il y a également un onsen public. Je recommande grandement.

This hotel is pure and simple spa luxury. Shoes off at door. Traditional garments are provided. We had the meal package and it was so exceptional- 9 courses in a private dining room. The private and public onsens were beautiful. The traditional beds were so comfortable. What a very special retreat.

The staff was more than helpful and the rooms were amazing. The best part might have been the food it kept coming and coming we couldn't believe how much food they served us. Very quiet and intimate. Thank you so much.

We loved our stay at Hakone Airu. It was about ten minutes walking from the train station (hill at the end a little steep with backpacks) though we didn’t have our biggest luggage with us as we used a forwarding service to Kyoto. The hotel had lovely private hot springs for use downstairs but we also opted for private hot spring in our room that I was sad to leave. Staff were attentive and the drinks readable priced at the bar. Had a really nice peach yuzu there! Food was very traditionally Japanese which forced me to try things outside of my comfort zone and I loved that as an experience! I learnt to like things that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. We stayed here in January 2026 to celebrate our 10th anniversary together and it will hold such a special place in my heart as we got engaged here also xx

From the welcoming drinks to the private onsen to the prepared dinners, the entire experience was wonderful! The room with the private onsen was amazing. The staff was so patient and friendly!! Having the dinner and breakfast really made out stay so special as well. The onsen It was the highlight of the trip! It actually cured my jet lag!! I will recommend this place to everyone I know!

Great experience of a Japanese ryokan! Location is just at the beginning of the Hakone loop…close to the train station for an easy transfer to Odawara station to catch the fast train to Kyoto or Osaka

Love everything about it from the staff, to the room and our own private onsen. We had a very tasty breakfast and dinner on our whole stay. We will come back and stay here again!

Beautifully furnished and decorated onsen with a lovely reception area, shop, two small bars and dedicated eating booths - we barely saw another guest. Staying in a traditional ryokan was a brilliant experience. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. It won’t suit everyone as you do get an appetiser, sashimi course, and various meat or fish courses as well as exotic vegetables - but there’s plenty, so even if you leave a couple of things you’ll be full. If you’re a fussy eater then don’t go to Japan and stay in a traditional ryokan and then moan about the food! The room is lovely with a beautiful bathroom and shower as well as terrace and onsen - 4th floor is the best and best view. The onsen was super hot and there’s also a public onsen. The one drawback is the local buses - this is up a very steep hill so you can walk to the town easily - but with cases it’s difficult. Buses only run to the station once or twice an hour so you’ll need to book a taxi - but do so in advance as they’re hard to come by. This hotel doesn’t offer its own shuttle bus.

Fantastic and reasonable value . The only problem was getting there and out. There is no good transportation to and from Odawara station .

The resort is beautiful. There is a waterfall as soon as you come in the staff is incredible. I still miss them to this day. It was my birthday weekend and they went to purchase a cake for me. My husband requested a small piece, but that was not enough. They had to buy a full cake. I had someone come to my room and give me a full body massage. You get two welcome drinks. The place is completely cleaned. It is so cozy inside we had access to tea and coffee. Every day we booked the room they came with a dinner and breakfast in every single day we were at mazed at how great the food was. You are about five minutes away from the town, which is so incredibly beautiful and there’s a bus stop in front of the hotel.

Hakone Airu was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay at. It was easy to get to from Hakone-Yumoto Station by the bus shuttle. Definitely take the shuttle if you are able to. However, if you walk, it'll take some time but you get to view the onsen city. The staff were very welcoming, kind, and thoroughly explained how the services I booked worked. My sister and I got the dinner and massage package and it was very worth it. The dinner menu was delicious and fresh and we enjoyed every part of it. Our room was very cozy and the private onsen was very nice, with a beautiful mountain view. We loved that they provided yukatas for us both. It was nice to wear them and relax around the whole resort and our room. We also liked that there were two sinks and free toiletry/hygiene products for use. Although we forfeited the breakfast portion due to other conflicting schedules, we are sure it was as good as the dinner. We would definitely come back to this place and spend more time here.
