This was a cozy accommodation with charm. The owner and his family were an absolute delight as was the free hot beverages they provide in the second floor public lounge. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. He gave us a ride to our restaurant of choice and he's even dropped us off at a nearby attraction.

The best part was the staff. Hazu and his wife, Hitomi, are friendly and go way beyond the call of duty. They are a charming couple anxious to help. We arrived in April, after the ski shuttle bus was finished for the season. Hazu picked us up at the JR railstation, and took us to Happo One Ski Resort each morning and picked us up each afternoon. He helped us make arrangements for our following destination. Our accommodations were cleaned daily. Staying in a smaller inn gave us the opportunity to interact with a Japanese family. Would definitely stay again!

The owner picked up and dropped me from Happo bus terminal. He drove me to ski resort and restaurant. The breakfast provided is excellent. Highly recommend!

Our hosts were absolutely the most amazing hosts ever - pick up and drop off to the local bus station; beautiful meals; helpful advice; discounted ski tickets; and just so so friendly - they became like family the first day. What the place skips in spark and pazzaz, it makes up ten times over in everything else that you will need. Honestly, I would rather stay here than anywhere else in this area.

It’s old, but great cosy little place with my own bathroom , walking distance to Hakuba base camp with plenty of buses. Would definitely stay again.

オーナー夫妻のお人柄が気さくで､話がしやすく、滞在中のプランなど相談に応じてくれて、楽しい時間を過ごせました。食事時間も出発・到着時間に合わせて融通効かせてくれて助かりました。朝ごはんも夜ごはんも洋食。夜ごはんは熱々のスープがたっぷり、メインディッシュは魚介類→ステーキと豪華でした。特に、国産牛のステーキをわさび醤油や岩塩で頂いたのが最高でした。食後の珈琲も美味しかったです。お風呂は24時間利用できます。近くの温泉は車で数分の八方の湯、倉下の湯どちらもそれぞれに泉質が良かったです。ペンションなので、トイレ・洗面か共同ですが、混雑もなく、快適に使えました。バスタオル・タオル・歯ブラシ・ドライヤーあります。冷蔵庫も共同ですが、名前を書いた袋に入れて保管しておけば、持ち込み可能で快適に使えました。 2階の多目的スペースは旅雑誌が充実しており、翌日のプランも立てられますし、珈琲・紅茶・冷たい麦茶なと24時間好きに飲むことができます。卓上ゲーム類かおいてあるため、家族で遊んでいる方々もおられました。帰りはオーナー夫妻と玄関前で撮影しました。ぜひ次回もカルナージュに泊まりたいです。

ペンションは手入れの行き届いた趣きのある木造洋風で、ゆったり落ち着ける雰囲気（平日で宿泊客が少なかったこともあるが）。食事も丁寧に料理・サーブされ、また早出に対応して朝食を準備して頂いたりと、細やかなサービスに大変満足しました。
