I decided to go with this Roman because of its lovely cypress bath. It is big and opens to a terrace with sweeping nomini leaves in autumn glory. Heaven. Nanzenji is only a few minutes away from the Meijiera Villa 1885. Our room was suru, with a pottery key made with a crane and great care for detail. Match tea was supplied to us. Our dinner featured sukiyaki, a superbly flavored food that was delivered to their famed restaurant with an overwhelming portion of beef! The dishes had been lovingly selected to match the season and perfectly complement the sake selection. It is close to the koi pond and traditional garden, and it can be enjoyed both in the evening lighting and the early morning sun. The towels were the best weve ever had in Japan designed in style under their name. Try ji tea popcorn it is delectable! Sold in the lobby, not exactly a retail store we only stayed one night, but the room would be ideal for a lengthy stay, with a large storage area, kitchenette, and a washer and dryer. Comfortable beds in the bedroom, with extra space everywhere, and we also faced the road but had no noise issues. Parking was a little unusual because this is an older area of kyoto, but they helped us park in a specific area at no cost

We would undoubtedly return. In Japan, staying in a Roman is a must. The Yakiko Broken is a lovely, peaceful, family-run oasis. Although it may give some people the impression of being outdated, this is exactly what you want, giving off the charm and spirit of the past while feeling like a geisha or samurai. If you don't, you're better off in a chain hotel. I also had the traditional supper and the traditional Japanese breakfast, where new cuisine was created. They take the necessary care of you and introduce you to Japanese customs and culture, as well as helping you if you're unsure how to wear a kimono or how to eat your food. Everything is immaculately clean and well-arranged. Last but not least, the owner sang a swiss song about Switzerland. I'm a Swiss woman and I wish I could have known the name of this song to know it.

Throughout our trip to Japan, this lovely roman was our best choice. Nanzenji Temple is only a few meters away. A subway station is a 10-minute walk away. But it's nice to ride a bike and go on a bike tour of the city, and it's free. We loved our room with a garden view. Each is incredibly welcoming and welcoming, and they all feel like family. We still miss the Japanese breakfast, but it was great. We want to visit again one day.

Given the overwhelmingly high ratings given by other reviewers, my hopes were high. However, I was extremely let down. The rooms were outdated and the furniture was mismatched. The tub in my room had a piece of wood wedged on one corner to prevent it from rocking, although it still did. The sliding doors did not slide but wobble. During the morning, there were piles of used linens in the hallway and cleaning supplies left on the chair outside the room, giving a really messy feel to the whole place. Since I had a road facing room, traffic noise was heard throughout the night, despite the fact that Kyoto is a quiet town and this is in a reasonably quiet area of town, the Roman is along a mid-sized road with a moderate amount of traffic. The staff was pleasant, but nothing else about the location really explains the high price that is paid for the accommodation. Sincerely, I've remained in hostels that delivered a much higher level of personalized service and guest experience compared to this.

The staff here was very attentive and friendly, especially when we were trying to communicate with them. They also have a beautiful garden. The location is just walking distance to the Nankenji Temple. They served a delicious meal at the restaurant with a comfortable futon and delicious comforter. They also served a beautiful breakfast.
