We had a great time at the read. Flexible people who immediately helped us when we realized we booked the wrong room. We were the only people staying at the read which felt a little lonely. Due to the very windy weather, we decided to leave the town a little earlier than planned.

It's one of the most lovely hotels in town, and the very nice staff really made me feel at home. The entrance was a bit difficult to find but that's the only thing. The hotel has a beautiful garden and a very good breakfast!.

We stayed a few nights in a yellow room at the Read du Figure and it was fantastic. After arriving on a late bus from Marrakech, it was a delight to arrive at the Read and Be-A-Poor, be greeted with delectable mint tea, and shown to our quite comfortable room with a radiator! Everything was absolutely fantastic and so laid back, and the read was also very flexible and allowed us to keep our luggage in the room until later in the afternoon when we left for the return trip to Marrakech. Everything was absolutely delicious and so calm. The location is great, and the staffs there were kind enough to welcome us. They also give us mint tea at night and help us learn Arabic. The room is big and clean, with reading very old but well kept. It's not in the center of Medina but still in the old city wall. The terrace was so lovely. The rooftop was so cool.

Overall, this is a decent, inexpensive option in Essaouira. This is a stunning old house, stylefully furnished with a lovely courtyard, sunroom, and breakfast room on the ground floor. Mohamed, the non-English speaking man who is charming and constantly helpful, meticulously maintains the garden and its resident turtles. Fatwa prepares and serves a delicious breakfast and looks after the adequate rooms up the dizzying staircases. It was the most disappointing time that we were departing, and we were left to have miscalculated our bill so that we paid about double, despite his own computer gave him the correct price. In any case, he was unable to issue an invoice from the computer. He could only use a note on the back of a page cut out from his desk calendar. Payment by card was also impossible. We did not enjoy navigating the very basic math that was necessary to have our bill reduced in line with the agreement on our reservation! In conclusion, if you keep a constant eye on the bill, it's just good value.
