Perfect location in chitwan for accessing the national park and river. 10minute walk to the shops and restaurants although we ate at the lodge a few times as this was ideal. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were friendly and very helpful. They arranged us a walking safari with a very experienced local guide, just me my partner and another guide (i highly recommended this small group/personal option, a lot of the other groups we encountered were larger). They also organised a jeep safari with the same guy whos experience is second to none. Breakfast was included, this was good and they provided us with a sufficient pack up lunch for the safari. Cost of the accommodation and the excursions were excellent. Highly recommend, we would definitely stay here again on our next visit

Beautiful garden area, delicious and inexpensive restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed chatting with Tika who runs the place. A free Tharu stick dance was performed a couple of times during my stay, which was a nice interesting bonus. Everyone was happy to talk about (and knowledgeable of) local wildlife and where/how to see it.

Our hotel manager, Tika, was extremely helpful. We were in Sauraha for a conference and he was able to accommodate a colleague of ours at short notice. Hotel arranged a walking tour of Chitwan NP and it was a great experience. Breakfast was provided (eggs, toast, fruit/veg) and staff were attentive. Showers had hot water, fans and mosquito nets. Area is a great location to see a Rhino early morning/late at night!

We really liked our stay at the Gaia Lodge. The owner is an ornithologist who took us on evening walk, where we spotted many animals thanks to his enthusiasm. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and arranged all our excusions for a good price - and with good guides. A definite recommendation!

More like a tropical holiday place of the past than the block hotels of today. Serene, god value, charming.

Nice, friendly with plenty of extra service! The Lodge driver took us to a good medical clinic when our son needed medical attention. The manager of the Lodge also came to the clinic to make sure our son was okay.

We were in chitwan for 4 days and found the Gaida lodge to be very pleasant. Arranging excursions was easy, staff was very friendly and knowledgable, and the was cost reasonable. The highlight was going out with Tikka, an expert in ornithology and local wildlife. The only cons were that food service was a bit scattered and slow and that there was a very loud generator (however that seems to be standard in Nepal). Overall, our stay was very pleasurable and I would recommend the Gaida lodge to others.

Our room was extremely comfortable and had a shared balcony overlooking the very beautiful garden. We went on trips into the Chinese wildlife park on the expertise of the manager and the noted ornithologist, my Vikram girl. We took a four-hour walk and a four-hour jeep safari organized by the helpful staff from where we saw rhinoceros, crocodiles, sloth bear, wild elephant, monitor lizard and many other birds.

We chose to go on a tour with them rather than anywhere else because we stayed at the hotel and were so blown away by the team there. We were not let down. We had two fantastic guides who went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best possible chance of seeing as much wildlife as possible. They also made sure we went the quietest way, so we hardly saw anyone on the day of hiking. We had a wonderful time throughout the entire experience, and we were greeted back to a very comfy room for resting when we returned. The road outside the hotel is a little calmer, and we discovered one on our first morning before breakfast, so the hosts made sure we knew it was there immediately and drove us out to see it!.

We were 22 people traveling and had 8 rooms. I had expected to have cottages to stay, but we were given rooms in another building at the same lodge. However, the room was ok, but after taking a shower in my bathroom, the water in the washroom would only remain there until your feet, and the second person should only use the washroom after a while. However, I got a good package from the lodge for dinner and breakfast, and it was tasty enough.

Our conference was held in the hotel 7 star. The only drawback is that it was a 20 minute slow walk to the 7 star hotel, but if you dont want to walk the garden lodge will arrange a car or tutu for you that will not cost much. We also booked a fantastic walking tour of Chinese Rangpa through the hotel and would definitely recommend it. Welcoming staff, attentive service my experience at breakfast and comfortable secure rooms. The room had mosquito nets, power outlets, TVs, and most importantly a hot shower. Drinking water is provided on the first night after that and can be purchased at the front desk. Beds were a little hard but thats the way in this area, extra duvets were provided if required. When our colleagues needed to switch hotels to this one, the manager, Tika, was friendly and very helpful. I dont know if the prices of other tours in the area, but this was a 4500 rupee 30 $ scam that included park permit fees and a 4 hour guided walk. Im sure it is worth it in my mind! If you leave the hotel early enough, youll also have a chance to see a rhino on the road!

We stayed 3 nights here and everything was fine except the beds which could have been softer. Nice staff and a great place to relax and read. We also did a rainforest safari for 1 12 days that was easy to arrange at the reception. Our guide Arjun was great, he knew everything about the Chilean and it's animals. Thank you!

Overall hotel was great for me. Outside of town just enough to be quiet but easy walk to whatever you need. Also can enter buffer zone and walk along the river by passing thru elephant corrals just across the street. Food was fine, and good price. There seem to be a variety of rooms with different comforts but hard to tell. I was on the top floor which is great for sitting in balcony and relaxing. Cold here in winter. Some rooms have heat. This website lists lots of amenities that certainly don’t exist at this lodge but didn’t effect my stay.

Apparently to get the best possible experience of Chitwan, it helps to pay a bit more for your hotel. After staying at Gaida, this is certainly not necessary! A luxurious, air-conditioned room, with great staff who can't do enough for you and can arrange all your activities in a jiffy, means that you don't have to splurge to get that authentic jungle experience. With fantastic and knowledgeable guides working here, as well as a great beer garden and dining facilities, you're guaranteed a fantastic stay.
