We thoroughly recommend this amazing lodge and look forward to returning. We had four wonderful days at the arcadia lodge. The center of Russell is just a short stroll away. It takes just a minute to walk to the center of Russell to visit waiting. We had a wonderful time at the arcadia lodge. Peter and Gregory, the attentive, ebullient hosts, are genuinely kind. Both the quantity and quality of the brunches were excellent. Every morning, Peter, a fantastic chef, served us a different three-house feast. The lodge is immaculately clean, tastefully furnished, and a lovely setting to unwind. We were able to make cocktails on-site and had free access to the kitchen.

We arrived as visitors and left as relatives and felt quite at ease there thanks to Greg and Peter. The best view from our studio, access to the best wines, and the lovely home-cooked breakfasts. They provide biscuits and crisp white linen, as well as access to the best wines. The best hospitality and knowledge that we have about our surroundings are all here. Greg and Peter are simply wonderful people. We will be back shortly.

We will come back to this place again and will recommend it to others. We stayed at the Arctic Lodge for 2 days. The location is lovely, quiet but close to the center of russell. The hosts greg and peter were friendly and helpful, and they gave us so many meals and sightseeing suggestions. The breakfast was delicious and was served on a terrace with a wonderful view of the boat on the water. The room was tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable, with so many lovely details.

Eventually, we visited greg and peter at the Arkadia lodge in russell. Our first attempt was canceled due to couid, but fortunately, this time we made it. The stay was certainly worth the wait. The lodge, which sits on ancient whale bones, dates back thousands of years. Yet, it has been sympathetically renovated over the years into a great lodge with individual rooms and a view. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and feature many of the older features. Greg and Peter, the hosts, are very thoughtful and provide everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Greg provides information about the lodge and restaurant ideas for the day and evening, and Peter cooks some of the most exciting breakfasts with home baked pies on the deck if the weather is good. They also offer a selection of local wines that you can enjoy for a very reasonable price. Our two nights were excellent. We are now looking at coming back next year to bring more family members because we understand that they cater for family gatherings etc. I certainly hope to return in the not too distant future. excellent job, chaps!.

Arcadia Lodge is among the top notch Is and small inns weve stayed in over the years. Greg and Peters 1902 home has been beautifully restored and decorated and sits on the top of beautiful hillside gardens overlooking Matauwi Bay. Our ground floor bunga suite included a spacious bedroom and bathroom, a lovely sunroom, and access to a private end of the lodges huge wraparound deck overlooking the bay. Arcadia is situated on the quiet side of russell but only a stop walk down Matauwi Road takes you to the lively center of town with a busy waterfront, beaches, pier, museums, shops, and restaurants. Russell, once the capital of New Zealand, is a lovely, quaint little howfar less commercialized than Pasha, an alternative base for exploring the bay of islands. The passengers ferry service from Russellpaihia is cheap, frequent, and fast for 15 minutes. The pompallier mission, flagstaff hill, and mata estate vineyard on the russell side are must sees. Arcadia lodge is clearly head and shoulders above russell's competition. Greg and Peter are great hosts. Peters breakfasts are amazing amazing works of art that really could have easily carried us through dinner. Overall, our night stay at arcadia was absolutely perfect, perfect in every way.
