We had a wonderful meal for 6 people and 2 children, well presented, really tasty and not expensive, then on Sunday my wife and I went for a couple of nice cappuccinos in a relaxed atmosphere so good luck to the new proprietor I.

The main courses were excellent and good but my wife had to send her chicken skin back to the microwave for her cooking to the proper temperature. And then the deserts looked excellent. After that, the cake wasn't very nice because they were very stale.

I had booked this hotel in September but had to cancel due to a change of plans so when I saw the accordion fiddle club in Dingwall I decided to come back. The hotel is in a good position and is easy to find. I had to enter via the restaurant as the front door was locked but the bartender showed me through and the receptionist checked me in and was very pleasant. I had a nice big room facing the front of the hotel that was warm and quiet and very spacious and had a nicesized bathroom with a bath and shower. The food in the restaurant was good but it was a different story. The atmosphere was terrible, the restaurant wasnt very busy but there was one table that kept swearing and making noises which should not be allowed in a restaurant. After a while they left but then some others came in and started playing their music very loudly above the music the restaurant was already playing which was also louder than it could have been. I have to say I was disappointed with the restaurant. Thankfully, breakfast the next morning was nothing like that, it was quiet and there was a lovely waiter who attended to everyone, there was a nice little buffet, cooked items were ordered and brought to the table. I would like to return.

I had a great time at the National. My wife and I were visiting the area and stayed in this Victorian hotel. The staff was very friendly. The food was very good and tailored to our needs. In the evening, the bar had a fun and lively atmosphere. The receptionist went above and beyond to assist us. The hotel has aged and I think it adds to it's unique charm of an old Victorian hotel in the highlands. We will be back.

Our first impression was very satisfying. When we arrived for lunch with my mother and my grandmother, we had a wonderful time. Great meal and nice service. Excellent value for the money. The cake display looked absolutely amazing.
