Quaint stone house converted in to a 10 room hotel. These are quite common in Edinburgh, and there are quite a few of them in the same area. Recently renovated and clean. The other guests were all quite which was nice. A short distance from the action of the Royal Mile, about 10 min by buses that run ever few minutes. WiFi was very slow, but other then that it was a great place to stay and I would stay here again.

Very clean and tidy, with a very comfy bed and good shower. Only met the staff very briefly and check in hence the 4 staffs but everything was fine with enough tea and coffee. Would be great if they did breakfasts

The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was inside the room itself, which is great. The shower head had a problem causing some of the water to spray in the wrong direction (my face). I hope that this is fixed because it wastes water and could be solved rather easily . We had no contact with the any staff members, but we received enough information to do the check-in and check-out without having any issues.

It served our needs. We got a good nights rest and the beds were very comfortable. Wish there was better parking but we made do. Signage was hard to locate as the sign was in green and writing in gold and hard to see. Maybe sign needed to be bigger or backlit too. We will be staying here again in a week so now we will know where it is!

In January, we spent three weeks at the Alexander boutique hotel. The proprietors, wayne and dirk, were incredibly helpful and contributed to an amazing experience. You cant find more helpful individuals, and the same is true for the staff, particularly beauty, memory, and patti. We spent about two weeks in the pearl room and one week in the honeymoon suite. Both rooms were fantastic, and the hotels inverters, which provided enough electricity for wifi and the lamps in the rooms, are a major plus. We will be booking this room for this year, and i also checked out the other rooms. This brings me to a review written by another traveler while we were there. He complained about the amber room, which i also noticed. I cant comprehend his complaint for the life of me, as the room was equally lovely. There is a house further away in front of the terrace, but unless they rip off the frosted glass of what i assume is their bathroom, the inhabitants of this house would be able to see into the amber room. Additionally, there are views of the mountain and parts of the ocean. Additionally, this room seemed very private to me because it is separated by large plants from the next terrace. In addition, this room seemed very private because it is separated by large plants to the next terrace. This traveler also claimed in his review that wylan or dyk were rude. Well, this must have been another wylan and dyk i have met. We are back home to the uk today, and my husband and i wish we could have stayed longer. It felt like home and family to us. The location is great, with a 180 degree sea view from our spacious apartment. The owner and staff were very friendly and made us feel at home from check in until we leave after a delicious breakfast in the morning. The best fivestar guest house we have ever stayed at.
