Our room was delightful. The bath was down the hall but not inconvenient. We did not select the breakfast option. We did not have the opportunity on this trip to partake of the nearby shops.

This is a great Bed and Breakfast especially for those who like something out of the ordinary. It's very homey and feels like staying over at your good friends home. Very close to downtown yet far enough away in a quiet neighborhood.

Very welcoming hosts, they went the extra mile and had a very comfortable bed! There were lots of cool antiques and they knew a lot of history on the home itself. We would recommend staying here again.

Thanks for the wonderful stay. The space takes you back 150 years. Host is a long time resident with unique experience and knowledge about the area.

This was our second time staying here. We used hotels.com to book this time and did not know we had to request breakfast. But there’s a great coffee shop just a couple blocks away, so it was not an inconvenience. We love staying at this B&B. Chris, Scooby, and the cats are great! Will definitely stay next time we’re in Hannibal. Thanks again Chris

My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at the Garden House B&B. Chris was very communicative for our check in and gave us a lot of the history of the house as well as tips for the area. That was particularly helpful as we'd never been to Hannibal. The house was very clean, the semi private bathroom was in great condition, the bed was so comfy and we were even given bathrobes! We had breakfast 2 days and Chris is a wonderful cook. We hardly used the car as most of downtown Hannibal is just a few blocks away. They are very up front that the house is home to a couple cats, one of which was our little shadow for the weekend. They are very sweet and caused us no issues, but it's something to be aware of. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay!

We really enjoyed the host making our “check in” truly unique by sharing a lot of the history and character of your landmark home. We decided to skip the breakfast part of the Bed & Breakfast and enjoyed breakfast with “the locals” at “the Diner” recommended by our host. We really appreciated our host’s recommendations for a variety of quality “local” amenities. My wife raved about our “feather bed”again and again on our trip back home:-)

When Chris greeted us, his demeanor was very robotic; here’s the story of the house. Here’s your room keep the door locked, so the cat doesn’t come in. Not a good place for people with allergies – there are two resident cats and lots of feather pillows, etc.. It met our needs and was comfortable, but I would not stay there again

Seemed like property needed more staff. Gardens were weedy. Loose railing by front stairs. Cat debris on front porch. Host was very nice but there were "loose ends".

We arrived at the proprty and walked up to the porch to ring the doorbell. The property was overrun with dead plants and was very un kempt. The steps were hard to negotiate for my wife and I. There were pots of dead plants on every step. There was a cat tower next to the front door, and there was feces smeared on it right at eye level. On the one side of the porch was some kind of pet house with heat lamps in front of it, possibly for feral cats? On the other side of the porch were 3 chairs, which were dirty and one chair had cat feces on it. We knew the owners have a cat, which was not an issue for us. When the owner arrived, he let us in the front door, we immediately decided not to stay. The house looked dirty, nothing like the pictures on the website. There was an overwhelming smell of cat in the house. We talked to the owner about the condition of the porch, yard, and the house, and told him it looked nothing like the pictures. He understood our concerns, and explained he had been unable to work on the house do to recent medical issues. We dealt with Expedia customer service, and were able to receive a full refund. We feel that the property was totally mis-represented, either intentionally or not. We were very disappointed to have to find other lodging. We think someone from either Vrbo or Expedia should go out to inspect the property before it is listed. The owner was very nice about everything, and we wish him nothing but the best.
