We had a small function here, about 40 people. The staff couldnt have been more accommodating and the food that came with the catering finger food platters was great and beautifully presented i chose spring rolls, frittata, bruschetta, wings, skewers and salmon - everything was eaten because it was delicious. This pub has eerie small pub atmosphere with regular jazz playing, great staff and no pokies. Highly recommended for small and large gatherings

The pub youve passed but havent visited. Its quite small and draws the best of the most interesting locals to this venue. Beer pricing was moderately priced, good for a pub crawl but not advisable for long stays.

This is a great old pub in east australia. The beers are delicious and only $6 during happy hour from 3-5 pm.

In february, i spent three nights at the hotel. Very basic with shared showers and bathrooms. There is only a fan in the room, no air conditioning. Although there is n o pub downstairs, people remain quite noisy until very late, so you must leave the windows open for some fresh air. The wifi is extremely slow. A 30mb podcast download takes about 30 minutes. Really an original and ancient structure. Pub is excellent. It is really evocative. Excellent location. Everything is within ten to fifteen minutes on foot.

This small historic hotel is a great choice for budget travelers. Although there arent any amenities, youll find quaint pub downstairs and only walked to downtown, botanical gardens, the opera house, circular quay, and all of the rest of australia by ferry or train.

This place is a decent location with ambiance for supper after catching billiards nearby. The price is reasonable. Steaks are average and are prepared to order! Mediumrare mediumrare. However, they do cut them into slices for you, which is slightly odd. Mushroom sauce was good. Chips were crispy and fluffy. Mac and cheese 3/7 Despite their fancy sounding name, these were quite disappointing and generally lacking in flavor. Just id say if you want to have grilled chicken, this is not suited for the taste of steaks that arent very special.

The pub is a charming little oldstyle pub with character. However, it is important to note that drinking alcohol is not served in less than 60 seconds. Ill return to see if its just merely spooky.

The location has a pleasant atmosphere. The decor is oldfashioned and filled with vintage memorabilia. There are one or two good beer options available on the pumps, with east australian brewery providing some excellent options. Both the beer and the pale ale are decent. A little more room is available in the back.

A great little pub without pokies that is only a short walk from the cbd. It was originally known as the Shamrock hotel and has undergone historic renovations. Although i havent tried it, other reviews say its good. Just reeking of fresh air so close to the city.

An iconic, oldfashioned hotel that is conveniently located near the hustle and bustle of Sydneys cbd or Kings Cross. A wellknown meeting place for friends or workmates. Serves good pub food. Well worth a visit. There is plenty of parking on nearby streets.

I love visiting local pubs to sample their cuisine, so i decided to stop by here for lunch today. The service was excellent, very friendly, and 5 stars, but the food was shocking! I ordered the fish finger burger which came with fries and received 2 fried miniature fingers, half a lettuce leaf,and tastiest bun. It was terrible!.

A small pub with a peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. Almost all of the regular music sessions they hold have swagger, but i particularly enjoy the jazz on Sunday afternoons. And no pokies! Yay!.
